I've always called babies in only a diaper "white trash babies". Hmmm, does this mean I'm a white trash mama????

Oh My!
A lot of my blogs have been about Everly lately... I certainly haven't meant to leave Walker out, so to make it up to him, I have quite a video to post. I think it is self explanatory!

Happy Birthday Everly!
Our adorable, sweet, beautiful baby girl is ONE!
I can't believe it's been a year since this happened:
And, a year since our precious baby girl looked like this:
Wow! It's really crazy when you look at the difference!
We didn't do a whole lot of celebrating today since Everly already had her party... but, we still had cupcakes to make the day special! Another candle and help from big brother!
This time Everly knew what she was doing and dug right in! And, decided to get a little messier this time!
Such a happy girl!!!
Walker really enjoyed his cupcake, as well.... these two had a blast together tonight!!
I have to include this picture because it just makes me laugh.... Everly's mugshot!
I guess she wasn't real happy about me cleaning her up... but, she did enjoy bath time with Walker.
I feel like I'm adding new "milestones" about Everly all the time, but it's just been an eventful few weeks. Yesterday she started "officially" walking. She's upright more than crawling now. And, today she stood up on her own! (without pulling up on anything). I have a feeling this girl is going to keep us on our toes!!!
Also, two weeks ago she was a toothless wonder. Today she officially has two teeth on the bottom and a top one is poking through! I tell ya... she's been a busy girl!
I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us.... watching these two precious children grow up is the most amazing blessing of our lives!!

Everly's First Birthday Party!
I have to start with this... I mentioned in my last post that Everly despises her bows. Well, she decided to prove me wrong! She kept her precious, purple bow in for her entire party! Such a good girl. And, she had such a fantastic time!
The beautiful birthday girl!
Although, when you have a party skirt like this, how could you NOT have fun!
Would it be weird if I got a matching one?
Everly really got into opening her presents... she went after each one with gusto!
She loved pulling tissue paper out of bags and pulling on ribbons...
How fun.... a new tea set!
After opening all of her adorable presents, it was time for a cupcake... she was ready!
Again, I have to mention the skirt. I had no idea that it would be up behind her neck while eating a cupcake... I love it!
She wasn't so sure about that candle!
Everly actually stayed pretty clean considering she was eating a bright purple cupcake. But, her brother was quick to point out when she had something on her face!
Love, love, love this fun smile.
I'm so glad that she had such a fun day.
Walker wasn't very excited to take a family picture, so Clark bribed him with cupcake... this is what we got:
Can I mention that Clark and I both look pretty good in this picture? Too bad Everly isn't looking and Walker's mouth is full of cupcake! And, here's another shot. This one makes me laugh... I love that Clark and I are smiling at each other and the kids look like they could care less!

I guess that's what happens when you have a two-year old and a ONE-year old. How is that possible?!?!? I swear, it was just yesterday that I was pregnant!

No More Sick House
Well, we are five days out from our ER visit and Everly is well! Walker ended up with a fever on Tuesday evening, but it only lasted 12 hours. There hasn't been a fever in this house since Tuesday. Praise God.
And, do you know what happened today??? Everly went to our church summer playdate. From 9:30-2:30. Five hours. Did I mention, Walker was there, too? Yep, they'll both be going twice a week for the next five weeks. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself. Today I started with cleaning out the fridge AND pantry. If I stay on this pace, our house will look like a whole new place!!!
I wanted to share a few things about our almost one-year old girl. Everly officially has TWO teeth now. It took her almost a year, but she'll have two bottom teeth for her birthday party this weekend.
She's also starting to officially walk. She'll take 6-10 steps at a time... many times throughout the day.
She despises having a bow in her hair, which is very sad for her mommy. My goal is to get one picture with a bow during her party... wish me luck.
Everly has also reached a big milestone... throwing her hands up in the air when we say "touchdown". The girl is ready for fall. And, just as she hit that milestone, Walker hit the milestone of being able to say "touchdown"! He is ready for fall, too. Can you tell that they are our children?
Other Everly milestones... she claps and gives kisses. Should I mention that the kisses are usually open-mouth?
I truly cannot believe that she's almost one. Time flies when you're having fun.
Speaking of fun.... I had to include this video. It was taken at 12:30 am while we were in the ER. She was definitely feeling better.

Pool, Dinner... Oh, and a Trip to the ER
So, this post was supposed to be ALL about my super fun Zeta girls. They all came to Conroe this weekend!
Clark and Walker went to Lufkin for a "man" weekend and Everly went to visit Bunny and RayRay... the perfect setting for eight college buddies to talk about the old days and catch up on each other's lives!
It played out that way for most of the day, but soon after we sat down to dinner my mom texted me that Everly had a 104.6 fever. Not the news I wanted to hear. But, guess what... there was a RN and the wife of a paramedic at the table. These girls went into action. I'm not going to give the play by play, but after the fever didn't come down with Motrin, Bunny and RayRay were bringing Everly to meet me at the ER. My sweet friend Tiffany is super calm... she jumped up from the table and drove me. We didn't get to enjoy our wonderful meal. In fact, I didn't get to finish my martini. Tragic. But, I'm happy to report, I was able to eat both of my blue cheese stuffed olives. Leaving those uneaten really would have been tragic!
All kidding aside... I really hate that the evening didn't go the way it was supposed to... a girls' night out is always so fun and so needed. But, these girls are the best. They prayed with me and were so understanding of the crappy circumstances. . Do you think that's why we've all been friends for 16 years??? I do. We are so lucky.
Here's the Everly update... after a few hours in the ER, it's just a virus. The high fever can come and go for several days. I hope it gets out of her system soon, because she's miserable. But, I give her credit, she pulled out all the stops.... I think she really wanted to be a part of our ZTA weekend!
Bunny and RayRay were wonderful. Bunny was really looking forward to having some girl time with Everly by herself... but, I'm pretty sure they didn't sign up to be in the ER until 1am. But, they did it! Thank you!
I have a few pictures to share.

Seriously, how hot is this Mama of three?!
Love these girls. I'm so glad we got this picture BEFORE the drama!
Yep, I still had the camera to document the ER. Everly was feeling better!

New Design!
I'm excited to present a new design to Wood Words! I've tried doing things on my own before, but it never looked right, so I got professional help!
I'm excited to have something that looks good... finally! Maybe I'll blog more often now!

Pay It Forward
Everly will have her first birthday later this month and I am still in shock over how sweet, generous and caring people were toward us after she was born... when they didn't really know us.
Our Sunday School class threw us a diaper shower and MOPS mamas brought us dinner... for WEEKS after Everly was born. I was so grateful and felt so blessed... but, I also had this feeling of guilt, because I knew there was no way for me to repay them.
But, I have figured out that those people didn't buy us diapers or bring us dinner so we would reciprocate. They did it for us because someone had done it for them.
And, now I get to do it for others.
MOPS (moms of preschoolers) has been such a blessing to me. I have made wonderful friends and have enjoyed every single meeting and activity. Our small group this semester has been so much fun and we have really loved getting to know each other.
In March, we got a new member... Juli had just moved to The Woodlands and she was six months pregnant with her third baby. She fit right in! Well, when we suggested a girl's night out/diaper shower for her, she said we didn't have to do that. I felt like it was me a year ago saying the exact same thing.
Pay it forward.
