A New Sport

Walker loves to play any sport.... and, he likes trying new things.  So, here's flag football!

He had a great season... scored a touchdown, pulled flags and had a great time.  Especially since he played with his best friend!

The little sister did a great job cheering on their big brothers!

And, there was a good stream of people coming to watch!

This season won't be the last!

Early Thanksgiving

Ryder and Savannah came to see us for an early Thanksgiving!  We had a great time.  We all love it when they are around!

Ryder got to watch Walker's last two soccer games….  Everly was happy to have a watching buddy:

He did great!

Then we all had some fun at Bunny and RayRays!

And, we all went to the dogs.

A great way to begin the start of the holiday season!

Next Up? Soccer!

Okay, it's official.  Walker loves playing sports.  He really loves it when the next season begins.  He's been saying for months that he wants to play soccer.  So, we signed him up at the Y.  I'm not going to lie,  Walker is not aggressive.  He hardly went after the ball when he played basketball.  I was worried that soccer would be the same thing.  But, NOPE! That boy goes for the ball!  He plays great defense and isn't afraid to get in the pack and go after it!

He didn't score a goal, but his teammates did.  They won 7-0!!!

Happy boy!

Walker is also playing golf.  It's a weekly class at the country club near our house.  The coaches are fantastic and Walker is really enjoying it.  And, he's already making major improvements.  I love that he enjoys playing lots of different things.  We are thankful for seasons!  That way he can go from one thing to the next!

A New Sport

Walker has been asking when he can play basketball.  Thankfully the Y has a summer league, so we are so excited that the answer to that question was quick!!!!

He had a couple of practices and then it was time for his first game!

Our whole team is full of newbies, so I was a little nervous, but they caught on so quick!  Walker didn't score any points, but he did take a couple of shots and look at this smile!

Here he is with McKinley… a sweet little neighbor.

The coach is also a neighbor.  After the game, he took the time to tell the kids how great they did and he gave everyone an award.  What a good guy!  Best offense, best defense, etc.  Walker's award was last.  Coach Dave said it was the most important award… Sportsmanship.  He said Walker hustled, did whatever was asked of him and he did it with a smile.  Then he called him Christlike.  Whoa!  I wasn't expecting to tear up after Saturday morning basketball!  We sure are proud of our sweet boy.  He always has fun and has such a good attitude.  And, the best part of all of it…. he absolutely LOVES basketball and can't wait for the next practice or game!

Loving Spring

I always like spring.  Who doesn't??  But, after the long and colder than normal winter, I'm really loving it.

We had such a nice weekend.  Tball and a birthday party on Saturday.  Church, picnic, playing outside and the driving range on Sunday.  Can't ask for much more!

Here are a lot of fun pictures in the sunshine!

Check out this swing!

I hope we have a lot more weekends like this soon!

Last Soccer Game

Walker's first ever soccer season is officially over.  What a great introduction to the sport!  Walker really enjoyed it.  Although, he seemed to shy away from the ball as the season went on (not sure why that happened...).  But, here's what we will remember about the season.  Walker's smile!  He'd run and run and smile and smile.  So sweet.

You can see that smile here:

After the game was over, all the boys got medals.

What a great team!

He was excited to show off his medal to Peepaw.

I love this picture of Walker and daddy!  I think Clark and Walker both really enjoyed the fact that Clark helped coach!  You see what I mean about the smile:

Family photo!  Mommy and Everly were great cheerleaders all season.

Everly wants to know when she can play.  We might have two athletes next fall!
This is a fun stage.... introducing the kids to new activities!

Big Boy Baseball

We are very proud of Walker's first BASEball (he doesn't like us to call it Tball) season.  And, we are very excited that it sparked an interest in watching the big boys play!

Last weekend we took the kids to the see the Astros!

It was a perfect Sunday.  Sunny and not too hot.  The best part of baseball?  Sweet treats.

Oh my goodness.... these two can down some cotton candy!  They love it.

But, Everly needed a little help with her sticky fingers....

So cute.

And, we didn't' even give the cotton candy a chance to settle before moving on to ice cream!

Yum.

So, we can't watch the Astros on tv, because Direct TV doesn't carry them.  And, we rarely watch local news, so it was quite a shock to find out that the Astros aren't red and black anymore.  They are orange and blue.  Another reason we didn't know.... the Astros are really terrible.  Makes me sad, because it really would be fun to follow a good team.  Guess we'll stick with the Rangers!

Is This His Sport?

We were enjoying the beautiful weather today and Walker was practicing a little tee-ball! I thought I would share this super cuteness.

The one thing this video doesn't capture... that last hit ALMOST smacked his sister! Although, I'm thinking Everly will get used to catching stuff from Walker!

Go Frogs!

These are the cutest Horned Frog fans ever. Or, I guess I could say ever-LY! Ha.

The Frogs won today... I think it's because of these two precious angels!

I learned today that it's going to be very difficult to take pictures of my children together. The first of many lessons that I will learn in the coming weeks, months and years!

Three More Days

Have I mentioned that TCU is in the College World Series? Their first game is just about to start. I'm excited!

I've decided to use the game as an excuse to post of a picture... of ME! Yikes. Here's the deal. I don't like prego pictures. And, I don't like tight pregnancy clothes. But, I'm going against those two things to show you a prego picture of me in something tight:

Two words: Go Frogs!

Okay, that's out of the way. On to more important things. Everly will be here VERY soon. If she doesn't come before, I will be in induced on Tuesday. Only a couple more days! Wow. I can't wait to see her.

Be sure to check the blog often on Tuesday... I will try to post updates during the day, and we will for sure post pictures soon after she is born!

The Year of the Frog

Wow. Seriously. Wow. My Horned Frogs are having a FANTASTIC year.

First, the football team makes it to a BCS bowl and ends the season #6 in the country. Now, the baseball team has made it to the College World Series! So exciting.

The only problem with all this success.... I've had to enjoy it from afar. We decided not to travel to the Fiesta Bowl in January because I was still in my first trimester... feeling terrible! And, now... a trip to Omaha sounds fantastic. Oh wait, I have to give birth. I guess I can't make the trip!

I'm assuming all the games will be on tv... what a great way to break Everly in to Horned Frog fever. She'll be wearing purple VERY early in her life!

Speaking of wearing purple... I have to mention that the Horned Frogs beat out the LONGHORNS to get to Omaha.

We had quite an interesting weekend in the Wood house. Clark was at work on Friday for game one. Soooo, not surprisingly, Walker wore purple that day.

TCU won.

Saturday, Clark was home and let me sleep in. Walker wore orange that day.

UT won.

So, the big question was... what will Walker wear on Sunday for game three? Mommy and Daddy put their school allegiances aside and Walker was neutral. He stayed in his church clothes. Thankfully the Frogs didn't need the extra purple to pull out the win!

It will be easy to dress him for the rest of the games... purple all the way!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

I think we have a little baseball fan on our hands! Bubba will be so proud!

Walker went to his first Astros game today! Afternoon baseball in the air conditioning with fantastic seats... great day.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he was paying attention:

He got very excited when the Astros had a good play... there was lots of jumping and laughing:

He started getting a little sleepy, but tried to keep up with the game:

But, after the 7th inning stretch, he gave in:

So, six months old and he's been to his first live action sporting event... honestly I'm surprised that it took that long! The good news, he continues to be the most wonderful baby, so I'm sure this Astros game will be the first of many sporting events!

Little Longhorn

I can't believe I willingly titled this post "Little Longhorn". There's something wrong with me.
But, Walker is a little longhorn tonight.

Texas is playing for the National Championship tonight... blah blah blah. How is it that Texas always finds their way into these games?!?! Oh wait, they beat my Horned Frogs in order to get to Omaha... that's how they find their way into these big games.

Tonight I was reminded of one of my very first blogs, many months before Walker was born. Clark was painting the little man room... while the Longhorns were playing football... on tv!
Tonight the Longhorns are on tv again... playing for a silly national championship and what was Clark doing:

Reading to his baby! So sweet!

On a side note... it's not looking good for the Horns... down 10-4 in the 8th. But, I would never count them out... they always seem to find a way to win.
