Date Night

I know what you're thinking.... why is she blogging about a date night.  Posts about Deana and Clark are boring....  well, it wasn't a mommy/daddy date night.  It was a daddy/daughter and mommy/son date night.

On Friday, Clark took Everly out and I took Walker out.  We've been talking about the importance of having one on one time with our kids, so we've started a new monthly tradition.  Once a month, Clark and I will both spend some alone time with each child.   I think it's important for them.  They are so close in age, they literally do everything together.  So, hopefully this will make them feel special!

I really enjoyed my time with Walker.

And, from what I can tell, Daddy had a great time with Everly.  She hasn't wanted anything to do with me since!!!!!

(oh my!  I LOVE this pic!)

Clark took his girl to Chickfla.  I took Walker to the mall.  Where he got to ride the merry go round!

Then, after dinner, he got yummy ice cream!

I'm very proud of Walker.  While we were on our date, I talked to him about manners and the way a boy treats a girl.  I'm happy to report, he ran to every door so he could open it for his mama.  Love him!

I asked Daddy to take pictures of his date, but he forgot!  I'm sure he'll remember next time.

I'm excited about this new tradition.  Looking forward to many more date nights!

Friday Night Lights

Continuing my trip down memory lane.... I got to go to the Gopher (warrior) Bowl to watch Savannah cheer.  It was great fun!  Watching Walker and Everly watch Savannah was adorable.  They wanted to know where she was at all times!

Fun activities

Walker loving playing with Ryder and Aunt Trisha

Walker was so excited to see Savannah at halftime!

The only way we could keep Everly from crying.... adding Mommy and Bunny to the pic!

Walker with his favorite buddy!
I can't believe Savannah is a varsity cheerleader!  It was so fun to watch her and see Carson, Ryder and Aunt Trisha.  Such a fun little getaway!

The Legacy

I had to show Everly the Zeta house.

My little legacy!

Future Horned Frogs

I wonder if Clark is questioning the title of this blog?

I got to take Walker and Everly to TCU!  It was so fun seeing the campus (wow, it looks fantastic and a lot different from when I was there!) and watching the kids take in the sights!

Eating at the near campus hamburger joint!

Cheese!

Running on campus!

I love this.  Walker and Everly with the Horned Frog!

Frog Fountain!

With Mommy at Frog Fountain

With Bunny
Two things I noticed..... ALL the students were wearing purple!  It was so cool to see everyone with such school spirit and MOST of the students we saw smiled at Walker and Everly.  It was so cute.

What a fun time with the Frogs!!!

Cruise Wrap Up

I decided to write about all the fun events that happened on the cruise.  But, now that I'm close to wrapping it up, I realize that a bunch of these posts are probably boring. (this is cruise blog #17, yes, seems totally ridiculous!)  Sorry about that.  But, I want to document everything in the blog, since I print it.

I LOVE this picture.  Walker was so excited to see Mickey one more time!

Everly acted scared, then touched his noise.  So sweet!
Walker ate like a champ on the cruise.  He ate so many chicken strips we kept waiting for him to grow feathers!
RayRay and his little buddy.
Another fun meal time with Bunny!
CHEERS to a wonderful vacation.

I mentioned it before, but I really am struck at how grown up my kids have gotten.  We didn't take a stroller or sippy cups on this trip.  They walked up and down stairs and didn't use high chairs.  We didn't follow a bedtime or nap schedule.  They just went with the flow.  They aren't babies anymore.  While it's a little sad to realize that we've moved to a new stage in life, it's also really fun thinking about more fun trips and activities in the future!

Adult Dining

One fabulous perk on the Disney Magic.... great childcare.  That means we got to enjoy the fantastic adult only restaurant, twice!

Mom and Ray went on a date night, and Clark and I got to go on a date night.  Then, all four of us enjoyed a nice kid-free dinner.

I'm not gonna lie, the food wasn't that great on the ship.  So, upgrading a couple of times was nice.  We really enjoyed our evenings in Palo.

Cancer Sucks

It's a fact, cancer sucks.  A high school friend of mine is passionate about raising money for cancer research.  She throws a "cancer sucks" party every year and sells t-shirts.  She gave me one at Googie's funeral.

Her annual party was happening the day we arrived home, so we couldn't attend.  To show our support, we decided to wear our cancer sucks shirts on the boat.

We took lots of pictures:

Yes, We are Special

I mentioned before that Ray was jealous of our suite.  Not only was it a fabulous suite, but it came with concierge service.  Let me tell you, that is nice.  The extra perks are fantastic.  They had a reception for us and cocktail parties and we got fun little treats in our room every afternoon.

At one of the receptions, a special visitor showed up!

Donald is so dashing in his tux!

Cozumel

The last time I was in Cozumel, I was a senior in college with eight of my best friends.  We rented cars and just started driving.   Looking back on that, I realize we were complete idiots.  But, what fun memories!

This time, we decided to take the kids on a glass bottom boat to look a fish.

The kids enjoyed it.... for about 15 minutes.  The boat ride last an hour.  It got kind of boring.   But, overall, still a fun experience.

The whole excursion only lasted a couple of hours.  We went back to the boat and took long naps.  We all needed it!

We Love Our Friends!

I have written so many blogs over the last couple of days, I don't remember what all I've said!  So, stop me if you've heard this before.....

Toward the end of the trip, the kids changed personalities.  Walker got all brave and was excited to see "friends" and Everly got bashful and wasn't interested.  This was a bummer, considering Everly kept talking about the princesses, and when we finally got up close and personal, she wanted "mommy"!  Here we are with a bunch of friends:

Walker and Minnie
Cinderella!

The only way Everly would see Minnie was with me.  So bizarre, since she'd already been so happy to see her earlier in the trip!

Brave big brother convinced her to hold Daisy's hand.

So cute!

Walkie matching Donald!

The little prince with Snow White

Everly likes talking about Snow White, as long as she's not right by her!!
So, here's the scoop about all the characters on the boat.  The first few days lines were crazy long and we just weren't that interested in waiting.  The kids really enjoyed seeing everyone, even from a distance.  But, as the cruise went on, the lines got shorter.  It was great, the last couple of days we would just walk right up and get to see who we wanted!
