A Laid Back Spring Break

No big plans for Spring Break this year!  Except for a much anticipated visit from Ryder!  We decided to head down to Houston for a day at the rodeo.  I'm not sure how we managed it, but it was 90 degrees!  Yikes.

We still had fun....

All three of them enjoyed the petting zoo....

And, Walker and Ryder enjoyed the rides!

One afternoon we relaxed and cooled off with some Chiller Bee.

And, we ended the visit with something Walker had been waiting months and months for.... Star Wars!

Yes, we finally saw The Force Awakens.  It was fantastic.  Ryder loved seeing it for a second time, Walker was over the moon and Everly tolerated it.
It was a great way to wrap up our time with Ryder!

After Ryder was safely back in GP, we went to the farm! Everyone was ready for a jeep ride!

Our time at the farm was also very laid back.... we all enjoyed it!

I'm always a fan of a big adventure, but I enjoyed our laid back Spring Break.  We all had fun and that's what matters!

A Trip to See Memaw

At the end of our spring break, we took off toward Austin.  Perfect little getaway and a chance for us to see Memaw.  It had been way too long!

The kids think the luggage cart is the most fun part of vacation!

I was thrilled to get to visit with Memaw.  She just turned 91!  And, I think she enjoyed getting to see the babes.

She, of course, we quick to comment on how much Walker looks like Googie.  That is, no doubt, a common theme with my family.

She gets tired quickly and hasn't felt great lately, so it was a quick visit, but so great to see her!

We have lots of wonderful memories and it's always fun to talk about them!

A Soggy Spring Break

Spring Break = big excitement.  Because…. Ryder came to town!  AND, because we went to the farm and got to see ALL the cousins.

Little cuties on the way:

Unfortunately, it rained almost the entire time we were in Lufkin.  Thankfully, we got a little jumping in soon after we arrived.

Nanna had a kid table this year.  These six kids enjoyed their freedom!  And, the adults enjoying listening in on their conversations.  They are hilarious.

Since it was raining, the boys went up to the FLC and played basketball:

And, the girls went and had a little tea party!

Nanna brought sweet little teacups and we all enjoyed teacakes and Everly had a pink cupcake.  It was a great way to get out of the rain!

We came back to Conroe and still had to deal with the rain.  So, we went to Pump It Up!

All three babes seemed to enjoy running, jumping and sliding.  They were able to blow off some energy and have some fun.

And, I have to include this picture:

Walker and Everly love Ryder so much.  And, the feeling is mutual.  I just love the way she's laying on him.  Too cute.

And, I also want to include this funny story.  Ryder was catching up on WoodWords.  And, after reading a few blogs that included him, he said, "I think people who read your blog like it when I'm in it. I'm not in all of them, but when I show up, I bet those blogs are their favorite. I'm like the good character that everyone loves!" How precious. And, I'm sure he's right!

Yes, it was soggy, but we had a great Spring Break!

Ryder is pretty awesome at Just Dance.  He's even better at teaching his cousin!

More Spring Break Fun

Did I mention that we loved having Ryder here for Spring Break??  It really was a wonderful week.

Uncle Clark heated up the pool!

And, we had picnics outside!

Carson came to swing!

And, we had great morning at the park.

Ryder is wonderful with Walker and Everly.  He looks after them like a big brother and they adore having him around.  Tonight at dinner, they asked, "why isn't Ryder here tonight?".  So very sweet.  We can't wait to have him back again very soon!!!!

Ryder's Time on the Farm

If you are a regular reader of WoodWords, you know Walker and Everly love going to farm.  Well, over spring break we got to introduce Ryder to the greatness of farm life.

He loved it!  Especially the trampoline!

There was football action.

And, he got to drive a four-wheeler for the first time.

Our official dog whisperer.  He loved Crystal (and Lucy!)

And, he has a little cousin who does everything he does!

Baseball fun!

Time for dinner.  Yep, our kids roasted their own weenies!

Nanna and Bubba are so fun.

Taking our dinner inside!

Have to use the fire again for s'mores!

Nanna always has fun actives available.... it's amazing how much fun an empty box can be!

I think Ryder's first visit to the farm was a huge success!  We all had a fabulous time.

Fabulous Zoo Visit!

My sweet friend Sara works at the Houston Zoo.  She pulled out all the stops for a visit for Carson, Ryder, Walker and Everly.  In fact, we got to meet the elephants up close and personal!

Ryder and Carson got to wash this amazing creature!

Then we got to see some cool cats!

Walker and Everly love their big cousins!

Then we got to feed the giraffes!!!  SO COOL!

All four babes loved it!  I think Miles the giraffe was also a fan!

It was such a great trip for all of them.

Sara was a fantastic host, driver, tour guide and special events coordinator.

It was the perfect way to start Spring break!!
