Next Up? Soccer!

Okay, it's official.  Walker loves playing sports.  He really loves it when the next season begins.  He's been saying for months that he wants to play soccer.  So, we signed him up at the Y.  I'm not going to lie,  Walker is not aggressive.  He hardly went after the ball when he played basketball.  I was worried that soccer would be the same thing.  But, NOPE! That boy goes for the ball!  He plays great defense and isn't afraid to get in the pack and go after it!

He didn't score a goal, but his teammates did.  They won 7-0!!!

Happy boy!

Walker is also playing golf.  It's a weekly class at the country club near our house.  The coaches are fantastic and Walker is really enjoying it.  And, he's already making major improvements.  I love that he enjoys playing lots of different things.  We are thankful for seasons!  That way he can go from one thing to the next!

September Catch Up

Here are some quick hits from September!

Walker lost TWO more teeth!

That makes six (not that we are counting!).

Everly loves taking selfies in car line while we are waiting for Walker.

Everly performed in her first play!!!!  She was the narrator…. just like her brother, last year.

Daddy got to come watch!

Bunny and RayRay got to get a closer look at Covenant for Grandparents Day.

We watched some high school football!  We loved seeing Harrison in action.

And, Clark and I had a little getaway to Fort Worth for a TCU game!!!  So great to see the girls and enjoy some fantastic Horned Frog Football!

We Love Jimmy!

We woke up on Monday ready for our date with Jimmy.  Ha.  We decided to go check out Rockefeller Plaza and see if we could see Matt and Savannah.  We did!  (no, they're not in this pic)

And, Maren was over the moon because she saw Mindy Kaling.  Turns out Maren LOVES Mindy and she was cohosting that morning! It was really fun to see all the action.

Then we walked around and stopped in St. Patrick's Cathedral.

So beautiful!  And, just a couple of weeks later, the pope was there!  Wow!

Then Maren and I did a little shopping.  But, then it was time to get ready for the Tonight Show!

Mom wanted her picture with a firefighter, but settled for a cop!

Here's the deal about the Tonight Show.  It was awesome.  So fun.  So funny.  Totally entertaining.  But, we have no proof.  They threaten you with you life if you pull out your phone or a camera.  So, this is us… after:

Jimmy was as adorable as we thought he'd be.  He seems so genuine and grateful.  I loved it!

After, it was time for champagne!

Then we went for a classic, italian, New York dinner.  We got picture happy:

Cab selfie:

And, finally… our last picture:

That picture cracks me up.  I love it.  It was an amazingly fun trip.  We loved everything that we did and we all had a blast together.  I said it before, but I am a lucky girl.  And, I'm thankful.  For a best friend who has the best laugh.  For a mom who is more fun than most people I know.  For a patient husband who is up for adventure. And, for amazing grandparents who made it all possible.

Until next time, NYC!

Greenwich Village Food Tour & Broadway

After our powerful morning at the 9/11 Museum, we took the subway to Greenwich Village.

I had a friend tell me about the NY food tours.  Basically you walk around a neighborhood, hearing about the history and having yummy treats along the way. It was awesome!  I love all that we learned and everything we ate was delicious!

Joe's is famous in NYC and it is tasty!!!!

We had eight stops along the way.  Rice balls, cheese, meatballs, cookies….. and, a glass of wine.

We ended with (another) sweet treat…. cannolis!

The tour was fantastic and I definitely want to go back and check out another neighborhood.

After our tour was over, we went back to the hotel and got ready for the next event.  WICKED!  Nothing like seeing a broadway show.

The roomies in front of Radio City:

On our way into Wicked:

But, first, a quick cocktail.  Mom is drinking a cosmo.  Just call her Carrie Bradshaw:

The show was great.  Not like anything I was expecting, but I don't know what I was expecting.  So entertaining!

Then we had to make a quick stop in Times Square.  Walker asked us to look for Batman.  We didn't see him.

It was a jam packed day!!!!  But, oh so fun!!!!!

9/11 Memorial and Museum

On Sunday morning we got up super early to make sure we had time for our very busy day.  We started at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.  Powerful.  That's really the only word that I can use to describe it.

We were there on the 13th, which means there was still a lot of flowers and memorials that people had left on the 14th anniversary.

This is for the firefighters:

Here we are in front of one of the reflecting pools.

It was truly amazing to see.

The museum is breathtaking.  So well thought out and powerful. I really didn't take very many pictures…. but, I won't be forgetting anything about it anytime soon.

I am so glad we made this stop a priority. It is a must see for everyone.

New York City, Here We Come!

So, my mother LOVES Jimmy Fallon.  She's a night owl and has liked him ever since he took over the Late Show.  Then, last year, he got the Tonight Show.  Which means I started watching and I also love him.  We started talking about how fun it would be to go to New York and see Jimmy.  I did a little research.  It's kind of crazy to get tickets.  They are free, but they only release them one month at a time and they are gone within a couple of minutes.  But, I told her I would try and we would see what happens.  Shockingly, I got tickets on my first try.  So, once we were confirmed we decided to plan a trip to NYC! So fun.  Clark also wanted to go, so that left us one ticket.  I called Maren, because I knew she loves Jimmy, too.  She was in!  Maren and mom became roomies, and our trip was planned.

I was the lucky one. Nanna and Bubba came down to keep the kids, and  I got to go on a fabulous trip with my husband, mother and best friend.  WOW!

Love all three of them so much!!!!

We really only had two full days there, so we packed in as much as possible.  I will break up the posts by activity.  (mainly because it's easier for me!!!)

We arrived on Saturday, checked into the Waldorf Astoria (which we absolutely loved!) and went to find some football on tv.  A great start to our fabulous getaway.

Finally, Football is Back!

And, these precious babes are ready to show off their colors.  TCU started on a Thursday, so they got to wear purple to school!

So adorable (even in their longhorn gear! ha)

The kids have gotten really good at coping with the fact that football is on all day on Saturdays around here.  In fact, they always pick a team to be "for".  It was pretty special when Walker said this about the Baylor game: "I'm for the Bears. Uncle Googie loved the Sic 'em Bears. Maybe he's for them tonight."
Ahhh, my precious boy has such a sweet heart!!!!

Love this time of year!

Everly is a Kindergartener!

After what seemed like a long wait, Everly officially started school!!!  She had a countdown going and didn't understand why Walker was in school and she wasn't.  But, her day finally arrived:

The little sassy pants was ready!

And, of course, big brother was happy to pose with her.

So grown up and ready for a great year!

Everly is SO excited to finally have the amazing Mrs. Fox.

And, here she is with her whole class on the first day:

We absolutely love PDS and especially Mrs. Fox.  I know Everly is going to have a great year!
