Nostalgia

It shocks me to say this, but it's been 20 years since I was a Zeta at TCU.  Actually, more than 20 years.  But, hey... we still have fun.  Just like we did in the 90s! Ha.

Our most recent get together... a Dixie Chicks concert!  Their first album was a huge part of our college soundtrack.  We all went to see them several times and they always put on a great show.  The best part of their comeback... a show in The Woodlands!  Which meant the girls came to Conroe!

We had some fun in the pool....

And, then went to dinner and the show!

We always have a ball together.  Especially with our fun "old" music at the heart of our weekend!

Another bonus of our weekend.....

Clark got to go fishing with his best buds!  I LOVE that we had a great weekend... reliving memories, telling stories and being with our amazing friends!

The Fun of Sleepovers

When Walker started Covenant in the first grade, he made some great friends.  But, he continued to get closer to his buddy, Kaleb.  Walker and Kaleb are similar kids and always have so much fun together.  And, since they love spending time together, we've figured out that their little sisters love being together, too!  In fact, I'm pretty sure Addie, Everly, Kaleb and Walker would all live together if they could.

So, we've had a couple of fun sleepovers for them.  Boys at our house first.  Then a week later, the girls!  Their mom, Keileigh, and I exchange texts through the night and they love seeing what the others are doing.  Seriously, they all love it.

It's been such a blessing getting to know the Neugebauers (yes, that's their last name).  Our families get along great and the kids always look forward to seeing each other outside of school.  The boys are playing flag football together this fall, so there will be more fun memories to be made!

Long Awaited Sleepover

Walker's best buddy is Hudson.  He's been soooooooo excited to have Hudson spend the night.  It finally happened!  Wow, these were two very happy boys.

Here's Walker waiting and watching for Hudson.  He couldn't stand it, he was so excited!

We swam and made homemade pizzas for dinner:

And, the next morning Walker was thrilled to take Hudson to "work out"!

We are very sad that these boys aren't at the same school anymore.  But, I feel confident that they will continue their very sweet friendship!

Zoo Day With Friends!

The Houston Zoo has a new gorilla exhibit and I just happen to have friends in high places!  My sweet friend, Sara, offered a golf cart tour and let us bring some friends!  So, Norah, Arya, Walker, Everly, Nicki and I took off for our adventure.

Look at all the cuties in the car:

Walker had to see the turtles (they may not be ninja turtles, but he says turtles are his favorite animal!)

Seeing some big cats:

This is always a huge highlight…. feeding the giraffes!

Those guys are so sweet!  Everly loves the zebras, too.

And, of course, a spin on the carousel!

There's no doubt that my kids are spoiled by Sara!  They love getting to see the whole zoo in about two hours.  That golf cart is amazing! (Oh, and the gorillas were really cool, but I don't have any good pictures!)

Farm Trip

I love getting together with my best pals, Maren and Tracy.  So, they came to town and Clark took the kids to the farm!  Here's what's hilarious, the girls and I didn't take any pictures, but I got some great ones texted to me of the fun they were having at the farm!

It's so great that Clark didn't mind taking them to the farm and giving me some time with Maren and Tracy.  And, of course, the kids were over the moon….. the farm is their happy place!!!!!

Maren, Trace and I had a blast… talking about old times, looking at old pictures, taking a nap while watching Moulin Rouge and playing  a little blackjack! ha.  This fall marks the 20 year anniversary of us pledging Zeta together.  I love that we have 20 years of memories, and continue to have the best time together!

Big Boy Sleepover

Walker and his little buddy, Hudson, have been planning a sleepover for months.  Finally, their wish came true and Walker got to go spend the night at Hudson's house.

They went out for pizza:

And, had movie night with popcorn and hot chocolate.

They are such cuties!!!

Walker had a blast and had no home sickness and was thrilled to be with his friend.  And, Hudson's sweet momma sent me this:

Sound asleep!!!  What a wonderful first sleepover experience!!!!!  I'm pretty sure this was the first of many more sleepovers for these boys!

Trick or Treat!

The Halloween parties were just the beginning.  Halloween night meant the Fall Fest at church, PLUS trick or treating.  Oh my…. such fun.

But, it all started with scary pancakes at IHOP.  Yep, scary pancakes….. they were FREE!

They thought it was very fun to decorate their breakfast!

Now it was time for the big fun.  We all got semi dressed to celebrate:

(It is possible that Walker's favorite part of Halloween was seeing Daddy dressed as a turtle!)

But, also fun, inflatables!

Here's one more family shot, just because we have it!

After the Fall Fest, it was time to trick or treat. This was our first time to really trick or treat.  And, boy oh boy, they LOVED it.  Took to it like a duck to water.  They raced up the driveways and were so excited to ring the bell and yell, "trick or treat!"

Honestly, I'm embarrassed that this is the only photo I got!  We were just so excited to watch them have such fun.  And, to bring home the mother load of candy.  Oh my.  Thankfully, the kids' dentist office took candy donations that they will send to our troops.  Awesome way to give back.

After trick or treating, we went to the Sehgals.  We got to hang out with Nicki and Suhdir, while the kids had a blast with Norah:

They had lots of fun staying up super late…. W is pretty much a zombie!

I love that we've gotten to the stage that it's okay to let them stay up late from time to time.

I know I've said it a lot recently, but I really, really, really love this stage.  Such a fun time to watch them enjoy so much fun stuff!

Tiffanys Reunion

If you are a regular reader of WoodWords, you know all about the Tiffanys!  Some very special ladies in my life!

I hadn't seen most of them in two years, so my mom had a reunion and almost everyone came!!!

It's great to get together with great friends and pick up where you left off!  We had a really wonderful evening catching up.  There were lots of stories, some tears and tons of laughter.  What else could you ask for!?!!

Yes, I mentioned laughter.... We did a lot of cracking up.... poor Ray.... he was the photographer and he kept getting razzed for not taking a good picture.  (seriously, he was having a problem getting us in the center... thank goodness for cropping!)

This picture sums it all up..... just looking at it makes me laugh again. Great friends and a great start to the holiday season!
