Social Butterfly
Walker is becoming more and more social! He is hanging out with lots and lots of little friends!
This week we hung out with my friend Amy and her family. He loved playing with Ella and Mia...

And, he was most impressed with Ben.

I think he wants to be just like him! Ben is three months older than Walker, so he's crawling around. Walker loved watching him and really wants to do everything he does!

Walker loves hanging with all the kids at Little Gym. Here he is "working out" with Audrey.

And, proving my point that he is quite social and a ladies man...

Yep, Walker positioning himself between two girls! Smart kid!

Birthday Buddies -- Kind Of
Walker had a little play date today. He got to hang out with Luke!

These two boys will always have a special bond. They were born six hours apart! But, they don't have the same birthday. Walker was born minutes shy of 6pm and Luke was born just after midnight!
It was great hanging out with Luke's mom, Melanie. We compared notes on the boys and watched them get to know each other.

Hopefully there will be more play dates for these two! I'm sure they will grow up to be great friends!

Six Months Old!
Seriously? Walker is six months old tomorrow? Doesn't seem possible. I don't remember our life before he was born, but it doesn't seem like he should be such a big boy either!
Each and every day brings a new adventure or milestone, dozens of smiles, a few cries and more joy than we could ever imagine!
Here's a quick six month update: Walker is sitting up on his own. Not crawling, but practicing a lot. He gets up on all fours and rocks.
His favorite veggies are green beans and squash. He's not a fan of sweet potatoes. His favorite fruits are bananas and the banana/apple/pear combo. He hates peaches.
Okay, so, I'm not going to go on and on about each milestone or moment... instead, Clark and I decided to give our top five favorites!
Me:
5. Hearing him when he likes a new food. He'll keep up the mmm mmms throughout the meal!
4. When he falls asleep on my shoulder. Will I ever get tired of that?!?!?
3. Getting compliments EVERYWHERE we go! I love that strangers say sweet things about my boy.
2. Watching him learn new things... He's very into the ring stacker these days. Oh, and he's very interested in Remy! So cute.
1. Going into Walker's room each morning to see his precious toothless grin. He's always so happy and ready to start the day.
Clark:
5. Watching him start to reach for, grab and play with things.....with his LEFT hand!! (Is it too soon to start teaching him a curve ball and change up?)
4. That he loves to sit and listen to the waterfall on the pool and feel the wind blow through his hair (looks like he may be a beach person).
3. Listening to him have a good belly-laugh while we're playing with him.
2. Hearing one of those new sounds that makes you grin from ear to ear and think 'I wonder what he's thinking and trying to say with that sound?'.
1. No matter how bad the day was at work, when he sees me walk in the door and smiles big the way he does....it makes you pretty much forget it all.
disclaimer -- this list could be really, really long... that's why we had to limit it or we would never stop!!!

33 Days
-33 days until Clark and I get to introduce Walker to our favorite time of the year (Yes, Abliene Christian vs. NW Missouri State on CBSC on Aug. 27th)
-42 days until I get to wake up and hang with my guys Chris, Lee and Kirk (I wonder where they'll be the first week!?)
-42 days until Texas takes on Lousiana Monroe (who?)
-42 days until the three of us don't leave the house because we have to stay home to watch Buffalo at UTEP... I mean what a great matchup! Ok, not really, but it's still college football... ON TV... we won't leave it
-42 days until Clark and I cheer against each other... OU takes on BYU in Arlington. He'll want an OU loss and I'll want a BYU loss
-49 days until TCU takes on Virgina (Why, oh why, are my Frogs not playing the first weekend!)
Woo hoo!!!!!!! We can't wait!

Frog the Longhorn
I'm not real sure where to start... I feel kind of silly blogging about my stuffed longhorn! But, that's what I do... blog about silly things. So, here goes.
Before Clark and I got married, he bought me this cute little stuffed longhorn. And, since I was still a semi longhorn hater, I decided to name the longhorn Frog. This longhorn quickly became a part of the family... even sleeping in our bed and going on trips with us.
A few months later we realized the family wasn't complete... so we adopted a little frog and named her Beva.
Both Beva and Frog went with us to Paris last year:

Ok, but why did I decide to blog about Frog and Beva... well, it seems that Frog has a new purpose. I don't think Frog is mine anymore. Our little man thinks Frog is his!

You see, Frog is just Walker's size. The horns fit perfectly in his mouth and Frog is just the right size for snuggling.
So, Frog is coming to terms with his new role in family. He's even okay with the new sleeping arraignment.

Now the real problem... what if we see a longhorn on the farm in Lufkin and Walker yells out "Frog!".

Jumpin' Bean
Before Walker was born, we received many, many amazing gifts. Honestly, I couldn't imagine him wearing all the clothes and playing with all the toys.
But, I have learned VERY quickly that he does wear all the cloths and play with all the toys!
Walker's new favorite: his jumper!
We actually adjusted the height because he keeps growing on us... now that it's a little taller, he is loving the jumping action!
Clark and I love watching him... you can't help but smile!

International Baby?
Wow, we had a fun and interesting weekend! Frosty and Linda came to visit Bunny and RayRay at their new house, so we went for visit. We had a great time and Walker got introduced to all kinds of fun stuff...
First, he got a little Eskimo kiss from the Golden Retriever Rosie:
Of course, I didn't get the perfect nose to nose pick, but you can see, he liked the big dog!
Then after the dog encounter... he got to experience his crazy and silly Bunny and Aunt Linda. I really don't even know how to set this up. All I can say, these two women like to laugh and be crazy. They've been speaking an "international" language for years and last night, Walker got to witness it:
That's only the first of many crazy things he'll see from these two!
Now I'm including a few more cute pics from the last few days.

Does This Mean He'll Always Love Green Beans?
I'm not sure how we got this far along, but here we are:

Walker in a high chair eating green beans!!! Wow. He's such a big boy. The best part, he LOVES them. Seriously. Who can say that about their son?
My son loves green beans so much, he actually reaches for the bowl!

Last week he had a little dip in his appetite, but he has more than made up for it!
He has to keep up his strength... you see, once a week he does a big workout at the Little Gym. If only I had a video of Walker doing "chest presses" and "toes to the nose"! We want to make sure he's nice and agile for all the crawling he'll be doing soon!
Here's one more picture right before bed tonight.

Such a sweet monkey!

Happy Fourth of July!
It's a patriotic baby!

We had a great 4th... the Snow family came down to hang with us! We decided to take a break from the 100+ degree heat to enjoy the pool. Walker had fun splashing with his cousins!

And, we spent lots of time at Bunny and RayRay's new house... but, I stupidly didn't take a picture of it! I'll do that soon, because it's pretty fabulous!
Clark got to enjoy a rare day off and he hit the links. He played golf for the first time in about two years.
So, all in all a great holiday weekend! Golf, swimming, burgers and FAMILY!
