Easter Time!

I intended to post this over the weekend, but the unexpected trip to the ER got me sidetracked!

Last Friday, Bunny and I took Walker to his first Easter Egg Hunt at our church!

Here he is getting ready...

And, getting a closer look at the eggs (well, mommy's getting a look at the eggs).

So, he doesn't really understand the "hunting" concept, but he did like holding eggs in his hands! That's a start.

The hunt only lasted a few minutes, but it was still a fun way to spend the beautiful spring day!

Here's a quick illness update. Walker is fine. He's been a little fussy this week and not totally up to par, but overall he's much better!

And, a quick pregnancy update... basically, pregnancy is totally predictable. I'm getting bigger by the day and the second trimester burst of energy is officially over. Glad I got a lot done over the last few months... because being productive seems out of the question now!

First ER Visit

Ugh... we had to take Walker to the ER this weekend. I feel pretty good that he's 14-months old and this was the first time, but I could have done without it!

Long story short... Walker has croup! He was perfectly fine ALL day Saturday, then right before bed he start wheezing, coughing and it seemed that he was having trouble breathing. So, we went to the ER... he had a breathing treatment, a steroid shot and some x-rays and then they sent us on our way. He slept all night and has felt much better today.

Why does this stuff only happen when the pediatrician is closed?!?!

Bottom line, we probably didn't need to make the trip to the ER, but I'm so glad we did. Having the doctor explain what was going on made us feel much better.

We'll go see his doctor tomorrow to follow up... Hopefully the end of the croup is near!

Cousins are Fun!

We took Walker to Lufkin over the weekend and he had a blast with his cousins! Kyle, Anna and Aidan played with him and let him watch cartoons with them. I think he's becoming a big boy!!

The weekend wasn't about staying inside... all the kiddos had fun at the Lufkin Zoo... enjoying all the strange animals.

Daddy and Walker got to check out a daddy and baby giraffe.

And, Walker really enjoyed being on the farm. It's really fun spending time outside. And, there's lots of space to practice walking!

The big kids rode the 4-wheeler... I wonder how long it will be until Walker is on it!

Is it Time for a Grilling Party?

Back in November (yes, November), we made the official decision to build an outdoor kitchen. It was supposed to take 30 days. Here we are... FOUR months later. And, finally, we have an outdoor kitchen. Just in time for the nice weather.

We are thrilled with how it turned out... now, we're just waiting for some patio furniture to be delivered and we need to plant a few flowers and we will have an outdoor oasis to enjoy for years to come!

Oh, I forgot the most important part....

Clark has already fired up the grill. Wow, it's so nice for a sweet husband to cook his pregnant wife a steak.

That was last night... tonight we had grilled chicken. I've seriously been missing my protein!

Walker's a Walker (Finally!)

Walker took his first steps right after his first birthday... it was only two steps and he didn't take many more after that...

UNTIL last Thursday. We were at our weekly playgroup and Walker decided it was time to walk. His two girlfriends, Audrey and Lily, are both walking and I guess he decided to show off for them! He just started taking several steps in a row with no problem. And, each day he's walked a little more.

I finally got it on video tonight:

In addition to the walking, we've had a fun few days. We've loved the warm, sunny weather....

And, we took Walker on an adventure to get him a horse.

On the way:

I think we picked a good one:

Poor Remy

I haven't blogged about our four-legged friend in awhile. The truth is... Walker torments her!

Poor thing, she really is a good sport, considering he chases her, pulls her ears and tail and smacks her whenever he can get the chance.

He's very into doors these days and tonight, Remy ended up on the wrong side. I'm sorry that Remy was being tortured, but this video is too cute to not post!

Rodeo Time!

It's Rodeo time in Houston, so we had to take our little Buckaroo to see the sights!

Walker is very observant and he loves to people watch. He had a great time watching all the crazy people. And, he was excited to go inside the petting zoo!

The goats and sheep were very friendly! He really seemed to enjoy watching all the animals.

The best part of the day... ICE CREAM!

Yum, Yum!!

Since our little Buckaroo has a western room, we couldn't leave without buying him a cowboy hat...

He wasn't impressed! He wouldn't leave any of the hats on his head, but we still brought one home to hang on the wall! Maybe he'll wear it someday.

All in all, it was a great day. We enjoyed being out in the sunshine and spending time as a family. It's another first to mark off the list... Walker has officially been to the rodeo!

A little sidenote... Clark and I paid a lot of attention to other families. There are a LOT of double strollers in the world. I guess we'll need one of those for next year!
