Easter Morning

We love taking pictures in Bunny and RayRay's backyard on Easter morning.  Our precious girl was READY for her pictures!

So precious in her adorable dress!

I couldn't get Walker by himself, but thankfully he posed with his sister! (he was very proud of his outfit!)

They are such sweeties!

And, some pretty good family pictures!

More sweet smiles.

And, posing with Bunny and RayRay:

And, Savannah and Ryder:

Then we were off to church, for a wonderful Easter service.  We love our church.  Not only for what we get out of it, but for what they are teaching our children.  They are so proud to know their (all important) Bible verse.  "He is not here, for He has risen!" Matthew 28:6.  Warms our hearts to hear them say that verse.

It was a great morning.  And, then we came home to find that the Easter bunny made a stop at our house!  Wow, more cool stuff.  They were thrilled!

Cousin Fun

We had a special Easter weekend, because Savannah and Ryder came to visit!  We were sad that Carson wasn't able to make the trip, but we were happy to get some good, fun time with these two!  We did lots of egg hunting, football and baseball playing and just having fun!

Here are a lot of fun pictures.

I love Everly's smile here:

Sporting events!

More egg hunting:

Bunny bought confetti eggs…. they were a hit!

Everly thinks cousin Savannah is pretty cool!

It was a great weekend.  Cousin time is the best!

Easter Eggs

I've probably already told this story before, but I have great memories of dying Easter eggs with my grandparents every year.  I know I continued this tradition through high school and it may have even gone into college.  So, it makes me happy that Bunny wants to dye eggs with my babes.

They loved it and ended up with some beauties:

And, after the egg dying, we came home to an exciting Easter package from the farm!

Walker and Everly are so blessed with a lot of wonderful grandparents!  I love how special they all make the holidays!

Mud Run

I don't like mud.  I don't like to be dirty.  I don't like to run.  How in the world did I get roped into doing a MUD RUN?  I'm still not sure, but it was because of some fun friends.

We took off to College Station one Saturday morning and ran through the mud for three miles.  The good news, we laughed a lot.  And, you are about to, too.  Because, these pics are funny.

Here's our awesome group, the Prize Runners, before the race.  (And, still clean!)

After several crawls in the mud, running up a steep hill, running some stairs, it was time for a fun slide!
Here I am hitting the mud:

And, here I am right after:

And, right before the finish line, one more mud pit:

And, all of us heading toward the finish line!

And, these are our "after" pictures:

I'm not sure if I would do this again, but I might!  It was a fun time and it was fun to push myself.  Since I've been crossfitting,  I seem to push myself a lot more.  I like it.  Makes me feel accomplished.  A year ago, I probably wouldn't have attempted this.  I'm proud to say I finished it!

Special Alone Time

Walker has stayed at Bunny and RayRay's by himself before.  It's always really special, because he gets their undivided attention and Everly gets Mommy and Daddy's undivided attention.  We've talked about doing the opposite and letting Everly go there.  But, we were worried.  You know, she's kind of a diva.

But, there's nothing like having a reason to try.  On Saturday, I was going to College Station for a mud run with friends and Clark was on Tball duty.  So, Bunny offered to keep Everly.  And, to my very pleasant surprise… she LOVED it!!!  They had all kinds of fun and she really enjoyed "being by herself" at Bunny and RayRays!

So, that meant Walker got some special fun, too.  We took him to Main Event.  He officially named it his "favorite place ever".

Air hockey, skee ball, car games, getting tickets…. what could be more fun???  He loved it.  And, you know what? Mommy and Daddy loved it, too.  It really is special to get one on one time.

And, while we were having video game fun, the big girl was making cookies!

I'm looking forward to doing this again this summer!

Bluebonnets!

It's spring in Texas, which means bluebonnet pictures!  Sorry for the overload, but they are too cute for words.

(this last one is too funny.  Mom, it's too sunny!)

Mommy's Helpers

Sometimes I forget how grown up my sweet babes are.  Like, seriously grown up.  I'm so quick to tell them they can't help or can't do something, and that's out of habit.  Not out of "they shouldn't be doing that".  So, I'm making a conscious effort to step out of my comfort zone and let Walker and Everly do more and help!  Especially, since they love it and feel so proud when I give them a job!

Here's chef Everly!  This girl loves asparagus and now knows how to break off the ends!

And, she got to help with the olive oil and salt and pepper.

Both of them help me empty the dishwasher and set the table.  And, get this, Walker brought in the very big garbage can the other day!  I'm realizing, all you have to do is ask and they are super excited to help.  I'm guessing I should enjoy it now, because I know the day will come when they aren't excited about chores!

And, I'm adding a few miscellaneous pictures to this post for fun.   It all goes with the fact that I'm really enjoy the stage of these kids.  They are so fun right now.

I have lots of mommy friends who constantly focus on the fact that one stage is over.  And, I will admit, sometimes it makes me a little sad to know I don't have babies anymore.  But, I'm so very serious when I say, I love where my kids are right now.  Eager to learn, sweet, temper tantrums are over (for the most part), they love playing together and can entertain each other for hours. Clark and I love overhearing their conversations. They have great imaginations say the most adorable things to each other.  We are so very blessed by our precious babes!  Can't wait for all the adventures yet to come!
