Punta Mita

After a lot of discussions, (and one major delay) Clark and I were off to Punta Mita, Mexico!  Just the two of us for a relaxing vacay!

It took us all of 5 minutes to find the beach and have a margarita in front of us!

We stayed at the St. Regis... known for it's butlers and service.  They did not disappoint.  We had our tea and coffee on the balcony....

And, we enjoyed the spa and the pool....

And, we drank more margaritas....

With our toes in the sand....

And, we got to go snorkeling.  It was my first time.  We went out to the marietas islands.... a national park.  It was beautiful, but the current was a little rough, so it was hard to stay in one area!

We were supposed to be on this trip during our anniversary.  But, someone broke their foot, so we had to delay.  But, everyone at the resort kept wishing us Happy Anniversary!  Ha!

In an effort to speak Clark's love language, I agreed to go fishing with him.  Inshore only!  But, it was all we needed.  We had great guides and lots of fun on the water.

Not sure what this guy was, but Clark had fun reeling him in.

And, at basically the same time, we both reeled in these rooster fish!!!!

I'm not gonna lie... I was pretty proud of myself.  I like to tell the story about me wearing burnt orange for the first time.  Clark's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.  In fact, I think he looked at me with more love that day than he did on our wedding day!!  Going fishing was a close second.  I think he was very proud of me, too!

Here's the best part.  We took our fish to the little grill and they cooked them for us!!!!

Oh my.... so delicious!!!  Nothing like eating the fish you caught... with this view:

It was a wonderful getaway.  We enjoyed getting pampered and spending time alone.  But, there's nothing better than coming home to sweet babies!!!!

A huge thank you to Bunny and RayRay and Nanna and Bubba for keeping the kids.  We are thankful that the kids had so much fun with all the grandparents.

Until we meet again, Mexico!

Fear the Frog

WoodWords readers know how much we love football.  Especially college football.  And, most especially the Horned Frogs and Longhorns.  So, when TCU landed in the Alamo Bowl, we made plans to be there!  The best part?  Being back with my ZTA girls!

Such a fun time catching up…. as always, it's like no time passed.  Then it was time for the BIG game. Not sure if you've heard, but it didn't start very well.   Oregon was beating us 31-0 at halftime.  This is what we looked like:

But, things changed in the second half….

Our awesome Frogs fought back.  Tied it up and took into TRIPLE overtime!  And WON!!!!  Wow, it was A.MAZ.ING!

Seriously, the most exciting game I've ever been to.  So. Fun! Horned Frogs NEVER QUIT!

We got to go celebrate when it was over.

Such a fabulously fun time to start 2016!

Marathon Deal, Finally Over

For the last ten months, Clark has worked very hard on a deal for Nabors.  Basically, they sold a division of the company.  I cannot tell you the headaches this deal caused him.  He did not take a single day off of work in the month of February.  In fact, he worked for 40 straight days!  But, in the end, all the work paid off and the deal finally closed.  And, it happened on my birthday!  What a present!

So, Clark definitely deserved a break.  We left the kids with Bunny and RayRay and took off to Lake Charles for two nights.  It was an awesome getaway.  Pool time, massage, sleeping in, great dinners and a little gambling.  We really got to relax, which was so nice.

A toast!

And, one picture of us!

Thanks Bunny and RayRay for helping us with our getaway!

Lake Charles Getaway

Clark and I are big fans of Lake Charles.  You can get there in two and half hours, do a little gambling, hit the pool, and have a nice meal.  It makes for a great 24-hour getaway.  So, we decided to a make it a group event and my mom and Ray and Debra and Taylor all came, too!

Here are some after dinner pics:

We had so much fun! And, we laughed.  A lot.  I love how Debra and Taylor are just a part of our family.  In fact, at one blackjack table, a dealer asked if Taylor was my brother.  At first I said no, but then I corrected myself and said yes.  She said, "I thought so, because you tease each other".  I love that  they are a part of us and we can all have a blast together.

I have a feeling this won't be our last Lake Charles adventure!
