Four Weeks Old

I can't believe it. Walker is four weeks old today!!! And, the good news... he really is a big boy! We went to the doctor yesterday and Walker weighs 8 lbs 14 ozs now! He gained a pound and a half in two weeks, so we were very excited. Also, Walker is officially in his room now. No more sleeping in our room! Yippee! If it is even possible, sleeping has gotten even better. Get this... Walker slept from 10:30 last night until 6:00 this morning!!!! Seriously, Clark and I are so blessed to have such a good baby.

And, he went on his first road trip. We went to Lufkin over the weekend and he got to meet so many new people!!
His cousins: Aidan, Anna and Kyle (Bubba and Nanna now have four grandchildren!)

And, his daddy's childhood/lifelong friends: Dave, Steve and Shane

He's just one of the guys now!

So, gaining weight, sleeping all night in his room, going on road trips and meeting new people... it's been a great few days!!!!

This Isn't What I Remember

What happened to daytime TV? When I was little, I remember being so excited for school to let out for the summer because I would get to watch fun TV. Good game shows, who can forget Press Your Luck (no whammies!) and Bob Barker on The Price is Right?

And, I got introduced to Days of Our Lives at birth, so it was always exciting to get to see it every single day.

Then I went off to college and found a roomie that also watched Days, so we purposely scheduled our classes around our when Days was on, we just had to know what was going on in Salem on a daily basis. (Oh, and we always watched Cheers and Saved by the Bell reruns just to make sure we had seen every single episode at least 100 times.)

So, I've got 12 weeks off from work to hang out with Walker, but the boy sleeps a lot, so I decided to try to catch up on my daytime TV... and here's what I found out. Daytime TV is terrible.

I hadn't watched Days in a long time, but in a matter of a couple of shows I was completely caught up. And, the sad part... they just did ANOTHER baby switch. Seriously, how many times does this have to happen?

And, I'm not kidding, there is very little other than soaps or news to watch.

So, I'm very excited that Walker and I have gotten comfortable LEAVING the house, because I really can't imagine continuing to look for things to watch! Although, I did just see a very yummy looking recipe on Rachel Ray's show... spinach artichoke mac and cheese! Does she put this stuff on her website?

Okay, on to the cute stuff... here are a couple of pictures of Walker. Is three weeks too early to start thinking about hair product?

Always Take the Camera

Not only do we want to have tons and tons of pictures of Walker, but documenting things for the blog requires pictures. You would think I would know this by now.

BUT, I guess I don't.

The whole family went out in the fabulous sunshine for a walk today! Clark and I actually got the stroller out and put a sleepy Walker in it and took off around the neighborhood. The best part... Remy got to go too. I was loving the sunshine... it was quite a change from being inside, but I think Remy enjoyed the walk the most. For the first time since Walker came home, she seemed like herself. Maybe this is a turning point and she will go back to being semi-normal. Maybe.

Anyway, for some silly reason, I didn't take the camera along... I should have. I think we were a pretty cute family of four!

It is a lesson learned... I won't leave the house without again!

First Outing

Okay, so our first outing by ourselves was just to the pediatrician, but Walker and I did just fine! I'm learning to handle all the fun gadgets that go with having a two week old baby!

Walker hasn't gained as much weight as the doctor wanted him to... only 3 ounces over the last week. But, the doc said to just keep doing what we are doing and we'll do another weight check in a couple of weeks. So, I'm going to do the best I can to fatten him up!

Walker had an exciting weekend... he got to meet two of his cousins!
His Uncle Googie, Aunt Trisha and Carson and Ryder came for a quick visit.

Walker is enjoying all the visitors and so are his parents!!! Tomorrow he gets to spend some time with his Nanna and Bubba.

One Week Old!

Time is already flying by! I can't believe Walker is already a week old! He is doing really great.

We went to the pediatrician yesterday and the doc says Walker is just perfect! We did learn one interesting thing... Walker is actually 20.5 inches long! The hospital must have had a bad measuring tape! Either that or he miraculously grew two inches!

So, Walker is very healthy and eating great, plus he is just a GOOD baby! He rarely cries and is very, very content. He and Mommy are learning to get on a good feeding schedule and it seems to be working out. Everyday is a little better than the day before.

Walker's Bubba and Nanna were supposed to arrive today for a visit, but Nanna is under the weather, so he will have to wait to see them until she is feeling better. He has spent a lot of time with his Bunny... my mom has been a great help to us! And, we are learning to get by on our own... this afternoon we are enjoying some Mommy/Walker time.

So, that's a quick recap... here are a few more pictures!

Teaching Him Early

We get to tell Walker that his first football experience was the Super Bowl!!

He and his daddy (and mommy!) enjoyed the game last night.

I have tons of pictures and stories that I would love to post, but it will just take me a little time! Walker is great baby and we are loving every minute with him!
