A Hodge-Podge

I have several blog topics today, but I didn't want to do different blogs, so it's all here...

Topic #1: Football
Texas and TCU are undefeated! For the second time this season, they played at the exact same time. BUT, TCU wasn't on tv. This sounds bad, huh? Well, it actually wasn't bad at all, because TCU was on ESPN 360. I had never watched anything on 360, but it was great. It was a full broadcast of the game, on the computer. So, we had Texas on the big TV and TCU on the computer... a great way to keep tabs on both games.

It was down to the wire, but TCU pulled off a big road win against Clemson! Texas killed UTEP. Go Frogs and Longhorns.

So, after we finished up these two games, we sent Walker to Bentwater and Clark and I headed south to Robertson Stadium for the Houston/Texas Tech game. (So sentimental! The last time we were there was the night Clark proposed to me! Aww.)

We have a knack for going to non Texas or TCU games and seeing a fantastic ballgame! A couple of years ago it was Florida/LSU.

Wow! Houston and Tech were back and forth, really exciting and really LATE! It didn't end until after midnight!

We truly couldn't decide who cheer for... we both like both teams. So, I basically cheered for whoever was on offense.... at the beginning. But, by the end, I was really pulling for Tech. Hopefully I don't offend any Cougars out there, but their fans are REALLY rude (maybe it's because they sell beer in the stadium). There are lots of examples, but I'll share just one. They booed Tech players when they were injured on the field. Enough said.

Anyway, Houston pulled it out with less than a minute to go... GREAT game... have I mentioned that I love college football?

Topic #2

Walker is EIGHT months old today! Wow. He gets more fun, more lovable, more handsome and more of a joy every single day. We are so blessed.

Topic #3

We officially have a church home. The Wood family has been visiting Crossroads Baptist for months now and this morning we joined the church. Walker was adorable. He smiled for everyone. It was great having him with us... he took all the attention off of us!

We are really enjoying Crossroads and we continue to get more involved... we've met lots of great people and we learn something new each time we are there. We went to a class for visitors last week and the pastor explained that a Christian without a church home is a like an orphan. That is such a good and descriptive way to explain it. We were orphans, but we aren't anymore!

Making Us Laugh

I apologize in advance for posting yet another video. I just can't help it.

I've mentioned before that Walker is copy-catting. Well, right now his favorite thing to do is "fake" laugh. I have no idea why he started doing it, except that I guess Clark and I fake laugh in order to get him to laugh and now HE fake laughs in order to get US to laugh!

I have a feeling that we think this is more hilarious than it really is, but I'm pretty sure it will at least put a smile on your face!

And, He's Off!

So, I can't believe how many times I say... "Wow, Walker is getting so big" or "How is it possible that Walker is already doing that"... I literally say these things many times a day. Watching Walker grow is the most exciting thing Clark and I have ever been a part of. It amazes me how fast new things are popping up.

Seriously... it was less than a week ago that I posted a video of Walker dragging himself across the floor.
But, check this video out!!!

Still not a "traditional" crawl, but he's on his way! And, Mommy and Daddy are officially on our toes... Walker is already into EVERYTHING!

He is also reaching out a lot, semi pulling up, copy-catting and laughing all the time.

Our little man isn't a little baby anymore!

Double the Fun

Twins are so much fun... especially since they're not mine! Ha. Susie was in town and brought her sweet twin boys to visit us!

Walker enjoyed hanging with Cole and Jace.

And, he was totally understanding when his Mommy helped out and gave Jace a bottle. Not jealous at all!

They seemed to have a great time playing together. Jace hung out in the swing while Cole and Walker played with the exersaucer.

It was really fun catching up with Susie. After she left, I was thinking about the history of our friendship. We started out as work colleagues and became friends and then became GREAT friends. But, through it all, Warner Chilcott was probably our main topic of conversation... that is, UNTIL we both got pregnant and had babies!

Now neither of us work for Warner Chilcott, yet we have SO much to talk about. Since she lives in Louisiana, it would have been very easy to lose touch... how often does that happen? But, since our lives are so similar that won't happen, and I'm so thankful.

It will be great fun to watch the twins and Walker play together through the years. We are already planning to meet in Disney World someday!

A New Blogger?

Walker might be ready to blog on his own... the computer is motivating some attempts of crawling!

He's on the Move

Walker isn't exactly crawling yet, but he is on the move.

Umm, is that Walker under the chair???

And, here's one more pic... just because he's so cute!

Go Frogs!

My little Horned Frog looked fabulous in his purple over the weekend!

I must admit, he was sleeping during the first half, but when he woke up, he was ready to cheer on the Frogs!

(notice the Longhorn blanket... Walker really does like to support both teams!)

And, here's the disclaimer to all the Longhorn fans... Yes, Walker was wearing purple.. yes, it was on all day on Saturday... but, there are reasons:

#1. It was TCU's first game of the season (Walker wore burnt orange last week)

#2. TCU's game was bigger than UT's game

#3. TCU was on tv and UT wasn't (this is a whole other blog in itself... Direct TV decided to DROP Versus, blah blah blah. Not only was this a problem for the Longhorn game over the weekend, but TCU plays on this channel FOUR times this season! What am I going to do?!?!?!?)

#4. Clark and I have an agreement, if our two teams play at the same time, Walker will wear the colors of the more important game

#5. Hopefully they won't play at the same time again this season (If they play at different times, that will give us a chance for a wardrobe change!)

The good news, both the Horned Frogs and Longhorns won this weekend! Maybe they will be the only two teams to go undefeated!

All the football action wore our little man out:

Top Gun Hummingbirds

Hummingbirds are so interesting to watch. At the beginning of the summer we were lucky enough to have several little guys visit us quite frequently. And, now that the birds are migrating, we have TONS!

And, they get pretty darn aggressive! We enjoy sitting outside watching them. Walker finds them fascinating.

I have figured out that my mind works in strange ways. The other day Walker and I were sitting outside watching and listening to the hummingbirds. They are very noisy... not only their frantic chirps, but also their zooming! As I was watching, I couldn't help but think of Top Gun.

I'm pretty sure one of them is named Maverick and he's saying:
Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby.

And my response is, of course:
That's a negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.

And, then when they get all around the feeder and start fighting, I think of Viper:
We were in the worst dogfight I ever dreamed of. There were bogeys like fireflies all over the sky.

And, I'm pretty sure Iceman is out there:
You can be my wingman any time.

If one ends up in the pool, I'll know it was Goose.

Grown Up Boy

I just had to share these pictures from after church. (Walker is still doing great in the nursery)

Our Little Man is looking so grown up!

The Eyes of Texas

Walker has been initiated into the world of college football! And, his team got a big win!

Daddy thinks he looks pretty good in his Longhorn burnt orange!

So, it was an eventful day. BYU is a rival of TCU's in the Mountain West. And, while it was very difficult to root for them, I actually did last night and they beat OU! Clark was thrilled with the OU loss and now I'm crossing my fingers. This win for BYU will make a TCU win over BYU even better!!!!

Next week the Frogs start their season... Walker will be wearing purple!

Texas-Tuscany? What Does that Mean?

How do you spell retired?

B-E-N-T-W-A-T-E-R!

Bunny and RayRay moved to their new house a couple of months ago and they are loving life there.
I wanted to share of few pictures of their beautiful new home!

I think Bunny has done a very good job of decorating, considering her "decor style" is made up. It's called Texas-Tuscany. So, it's a combination of a house you'd find in the hill country of Texas and a villa in Tuscany.

That's a cowhide on the floor! I love it!

And, what's RayRay's favorite room of the house...

That golf cart is bringing RayRay lots of enjoyment... All he has to do is jump on there and head out to one of three golf courses.

Not a bad way to enjoy retirement!!!

And, a quick side note: College football is here! Clark and I have games to watch all day. Literally, the first game starts at 11 and we'll probably still be watching football after midnight. Gotta love it!

And, a piece of good news, since TCU doesn't play tomorrow, Clark and I don't have to fight about what color Walker wears tomorrow. He'll be decked out in burnt orange and I don't mind a bit!
