Baby Shower #2, A TCU Party

My shower last weekend was a blast! My sweet sorority sisters planned a TCU themed baby shower for me at our favorite Fort Worth restaurant, Joe T. Garcia's. First of all, I have to say... the food was FABULOUS! Being able to celebrate there was extra special, because I literally crave the Joe T's guacamole from Houston, I could use "eating at Joe T's" as a reason to go to Forth Worth!

But, on to the shower... check out the cuteness:

And, of course, I got tons of great gifts for the baby... including TCU outfits! Now Baby Boy Wood can wear Longhorn gear when UT plays and Horned Frog gear when TCU plays. Poor little one, he won't know who to cheer for!

The best part of the shower, catching up with family and friends!
Check out Aunt Trisha and cousins Carson and Savannah:

And, of course, the other pregnant friends. Tiff is due any minute and Julie will have her baby girl not long after Baby Wood arrives:

I had a WONDERFUL time and appreciate all the hostesses so much! Girls, thanks for throwing such a fun party for Baby Boy Wood. Here they all are! Well, most of them... Sara we missed you!
Julie, Maren, Rachel, Tinsley and Tracy:

Coming home that day was pretty hilarious, unloading all the gifts and trying to put them in the Little Man Room was interesting. All Clark could do was scratch his head and say, "this room used to be so empty, what are we going to do with all this?!" It's amazing how fast it starts to build up!

Again, we feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives to help us prepare for our bundle of joy!

Woo Hoo, Back in the Land of the Internet

Finally! The new laptop arrived today and I'm having so much fun getting "connected" again! I've come to realize that I'm addicted to having information at my fingertips!

But, now on to important things! Blogging about baby showers! I'll start with the first shower. It was too fun. My sweet hostesses color coordinated the shower with the Little Man room.

I promise, I didn't mean to match the decor, it just happened!

I have a picture of every single present that I opened (thanks Kelsey!), but I won't make you all suffer through that, so here are just a few:
'
I ended up with lots of handmade stuff... I'm very impressed with the fact that I have a lot of friends that sew! Nea's special burp cloths!

Um, we got lots of Longhorn gear... I'm only showing one pic, but I promise... there was lots more (a mobile, burp cloth, blanket, etc.)

Again, a very talented friend... Teri made Baby Boy Wood this beautiful quilt! It's so wonderful, we are considering hanging it on the wall for everyone to see!

Thanks so much to Sandra, Gwen, Melanie and Jeanette! They made everything so special and I enjoyed having so many family and friends get together to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Boy Wood!

Here are the fabulous hostesses:

And, Baby Boy Wood's grandmothers:

Another really fun thing about baby showers... coming home and going through everything and trying to put things together... Clark is starting to get really good! Although, if there is a project that needs to be done, Frosty is the man to do it!

Yep, that's our pack n' play... Clark and Frosty did an excellent job!

All in all, it was a WONDERFUL day. Baby Boy Wood ended up with lots and lots of precious outfits and tons of "gear". Clark and I are very lucky and feel very blessed!!!

Nope, No Computer Yet

So, it's been a week since my last blog and I have to be honest, I really thought I would have had a couple of new blogs by now. BUT, I don't. The reason, we still don't have the computer. The good news... we got an email saying it shipped yesterday. The bad news... it's a holiday week, so who knows when it will actually arrive.

Again, I promise to add all kinds of stuff to the blog when the computer arrives. I had ANOTHER AMAZING baby shower this weekend. It was in Fort Worth with lots of college friends. And, let's just mention... Baby Boy Wood got lots of TCU gear! This is a good thing because the Longhorn gear was starting to take over the Little Man Room!

We have lots of amazing family and friends... Clark and I very lucky that everyone is helping us prepare for our baby boy. Now it's time to start washing all the precious outfits and finding the perfect place for all his stuff!!!!

Hopefully there will be new posts with pictures soon!!!

The New Computer is on the Way

Just a quick note to say... a new laptop is on the way! Clark and I ordered a new Dell and it will be here in a few short days. I can't wait.

I had an AMAZING baby shower on Saturday and I can't wait to blog all about it. But, to do it justice, I must include pictures and that has to wait until the new laptop. But, just to let you know... Baby Boy Wood got all kinds of fabulous new outfits and lots of new toys.

I promise, a full update will be on here soon!

Computer Woes

Well, I actually have several topics I'd like to blog about, but I'm having technical issues.
My laptop died... it's really dead. Won't even turn on. You would think I would use our desktop... wrong. It's actually Clark's desktop and I'm not sure how old it is, but I will tell you... it.... moves.... slower.... than.... Christmas....

So, we are in the market for a brand new laptop! I told Clark that I'm having blog withdraws, hoping that will mean we can do some quick research on the best deal and get the new laptop ASAP.

It really is important, my first baby shower is Saturday and I will want to post pictures! (Nicole, I'm sure I will finally put a "pregnant" picture up.)

I'll keep you posted... hopefully there will be another entry by the end of the weekend. If everything falls into place, it will be composed on a brand new computer!

Ugh!

It's been a rough several days... Clark and I have dealt with a lot of disappointment.

Let me take you back to Saturday night. Yes, that night. The Longhorns had no business even being in it at the end of that game against Tech, but somehow they managed to pull into the lead with a couple of minutes left.
Yes, it was an unbelievable game, but just not the outcome we would have hoped for.
The Longhorns lost, we go to bed upset.

Then Tuesday night... I'm not going to blog about politics, but I will mention that Clark and I both voted for McCain.
McCain lost, we go to bed upset.

And, last night. The Frogs lead the top 10 Utes the entire game... well, not the entire game... the silly Frog defense let them go ahead with a couple of minutes left (have we heard this before?) and those TWO missed field goals come back to bite us.
The Frogs lost, we go to bed upset.

Not a good week, but it's just football and politics. We will carry on and enjoy the fact that both of our teams will go to bowl games, in fact, I'm confident Texas will be in a big bowl... I think they can still make it to the national championship game.

So, hopefully all the disappointment is behind us... no more going to bed upset.

Trick or Treat

Clark and I aren't into Halloween... we haven't celebrated it or dressed up for it since we've known each other. I'm looking forward to next year, because we'll have a little man to focus on and dress up.

So, last night we were bored... just sitting around waiting for our trick or treaters to show up. We wondered if any would actually ring the bell. Our neighborhood has really big lots, so it takes a lot of effort for the kids to make it from house to house. But, finally the doorbell rang and all three of us went to the door (yes, that includes Remy with her orange and black bows) and standing there was a cute little chef, some scary looking monster and a third little girl. She was all dressed up with long hair, but her face was painted white. I couldn't figure out what she was, so I asked.... and, the answer disturbed me. She said she was Dead Hannah Montana. Seriously, Dead Hannah Montana. Looking back on it now, I still don't get it. I guess she wanted to be "dressed up" cute, but also wanted something gothic and scary, so killing off the teen sensation was the best way to do it.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but my favorite costumes of the night were Indiana Jones, Snow White and a precious little Care Bear.

Poor Baby Boy Wood, I guess next year he will have to be something very sweet and cuddly... nothing too harsh or he'll scare his mommy!
