Seaside... The Beginning

We made it to Seaside.  Almost exactly 12 hours after we left Conroe.  That included several pit stops and a trip to the grocery store.

The good news.... the house is awesome and the beach is BEAUTIFUL.  The bad news... Walker had a 103.6 fever.  Ugh.  So, after a not-so-good night, Walker and I took a trip to Urgent Care.  Would you believe it's viral?  Of course it is... which means we have to wait it out.  Ugh.  He seems to feel pretty darn good when the fever is under control, so that's our goal for now.  My prayer is that he will have a wonderful night of sleep and wake up ready to rock and roll tomorrow!  Thank goodness we still have more than five days left of this vacation... plenty of time to make up for a crappy first day!

Guess what... even though we had a yucky start to our trip, I do have pictures!

Walker's first Egg McMuffin!

Lunch stop at The Shed

Wishing she could get out of that high chair.

Being silly!

Beautiful girl!

After ice cream in Seaside

Daddy chasing two toddlers!

Everly LOVES her freedom.  Walking on her own is her new favorite hobby!
I really, really, really hope I get to post some fabulous beach pictures soon!!!

Practice

We will be at the beach in exactly one week.  Everly is ready:

Neither one of my kids are hat people.  They usually throw them off two seconds after I put them on.... but, for some reason, they started playing with their hats yesterday!

I'm glad they are practicing!

These pictures will be so much cuter in the sand!!!

Seaside, here we come!!!!

A Day With the Woods

We didn't do anything special yesterday, but it was still a fun day.  And, I actually took some pictures!

A big thing in this house right now is hide and seek.  Walker LOVES for one of us to hide from him and then jump out and surprise him.  I thought I would get a picture:

Nothing better than hearing those two babes squeal in delight!  And, here's Walker finding Daddy in another hiding spot:

I've come to realize that it's the little things that make our kids happy.  It's not hard to play hide and seek and they both love it.  Although, sometimes we run out of hiding places!  And, Walker has figured out that his little sister is a dead giveaway.  She's usually laughing at us and pointing him in the right direction.

I took some more pictures... yes, a few of them were OUT of auto!

Daddy hanging with his babes:

This is my new favorite picture:

Do you think she has him wrapped around her little finger, or what?!

Everly is getting so big... she doesn't look like a baby anymore!

Handsome Walker:

This picture cracks me up:

Walker really wanted me to get a shot of him and "Frog"!!!    CHEESE!

The Little Eskimo

Bunny and RayRay brought home some really cool things from their Alaskan cruise:

I love Walker in his Eskimo outfit!!!  It looks like he is ready for some cold weather.

Everly didn't want to miss out on the fun dressing up.... she pulled out big brother's cowboy hat.

I think her hat looks great with the nightgown!!  Such fun babes.

A Sweet, Sweet Bond

Walker and Everly have great cousins.

Aidan, Kyle and Anna on Clark's side and Savannah, Carson and Ryder on my side.  Walker loves it when we get to spend time with any of them.

But, I have to point out that he has a special bond with Carson.

Carson was born blind.  She adapts and overcomes amazingly well. You would think one aliment would be enough for her.... but, it isn't.  Back in the winter she was diagnosed with diabetes.  That led to a smart doctor following up and figuring out that Carson actually has something called Alstrom Syndrome.  It is a genetic disease and only 700 people in the world have it.  The blindness and diabetes are because of the syndrome and she has problems with other organs, as well.  She turns 13 later this month, and there's a very good possibility that she'll be on dialysis soon.

Many, many times I have thanked God that my children are healthy.  I truly can't imagine all the worry that my brother and Trisha deal with... I'm sure it all seems impossible at times, but they are so strong.  And, truly amazing.

Okay, back to the sweet bond.  Carson is visiting Bunny and RayRay this week, so Bunny brought her to see "Walkman" and Everly today.  Bunny tells me she had been asking over and over to come see them.

As they walked in the door, Bunny told Walker to show Carson to our playroom.  Walker is only two and a half.  He doesn't know what blindness is... but, he held her hand and guided her to playroom.

While they were playing and having a blast together, my mom and I talked about whether or not Walker knows she's blind.  Obviously, he doesn't because he doesn't know what that means.  But, I really believe he senses it.  He hands toys to her and is very patient while playing with her.  It's really cool to watch.

It's just another example of my baby boy's tender heart.

Whenever Carson gives Walker a hug, she picks him up and swings him back and forth.  He LOVES it.

Carson was still here when Walker went down for his nap.  But, she wasn't when he woke up.  He ran to the window and cried hysterically for 10 minutes.  Thank goodness she's coming swimming tomorrow!

Did I mention that it's a sweet bond?

Videos!

So, I finally got all the good stuff off my phone!  I just had to share this cuteness.  Walker and Everly laugh at each other all the time and Walker has found a way to "get" his sister!

And, another one.... we are working on counting with Walker.  Just watch:

I'm not sure where the "buzz" came from.  Yes, he loves Toy Story, but inserting "buzz" for four and five cracks us up!!!!  And, he usually throws both hands in the air.  I try to correct him every time, but I can't help but laugh... he's just too darn cute!

Technical Help Needed

Well, I guess I need to become more technical. I have two adorable videos on my phone.  Videos that you need to see....

You aren't going to see them, yet. I plugged the ole iPhone in tonight with every intention of getting the videos off the phone and onto the blog.  That was over an hour ago.  Still no videos.  I've done it tons of times, but tonight iTunes MADE me update the software on my phone.  It takes forever.  Therefore, there won't be adorable videos tonight.  Darn it.

Hopefully tomorrow!
