Three years ago today I married my best friend. It was an amazing wedding and a really fun night. But, I'll tell you what's crazy about the whole "marriage" thing... it started off fantastic and has only gotten better!
Clark and I often talk about how lucky we are to have found each other. We really have tons in common. Politics, interests, food, etc.
We are so lucky because I love, love, love going to sporting events with Clark. We enjoy doing that together. But, Clark is so well-rounded... he enjoys the arts and will go to any musical or play I want to see. We enjoy doing that together, too. Seriously, how many people can say that about their spouse?!
And, here's the even more fun part, we continue to learn about ourselves and each other.
When we got married, we both knew we wanted children. That was the easy part. But, what we didn't know was our parenting styles. How could we know? Now we have a precious son and come to find out... our parenting styles are perfectly in line. How awesome is that??
I've always begged Clark to tell me when he knew he loved me. (In fact, this was the subject of his speech at our rehearsal dinner) He says there wasn't "one" moment, his love just grew over time. I know exactly what he means even though I do have a few moments that stand out to me. But, I have to share one funny story...
It was the summer after we started dating in December, so we had been together for maybe 6ish months. We were hanging out in the pool at his house. Clark would always put on his huge cd changer (there were hundreds of cds in that thing) and I would hear some strange music. Anyway, there we are laying on rafts, relaxing when suddenly Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman are singing. Yep, Ewan and Nicole... singing... from Moulin Rouge. One of my favorite movies of all time. I realized that Clark OWNED the soundtrack from Moulin Rouge. I told him that day... "you are either gay or my soul mate."
I'm happy to report, the answer was soul mate!
Clark, I love you more today than I did on our wedding day and more than yesterday!

Wild Kingdom
This is a post about a couple of topics. First, I want to give a sciatica update. Here's the update... it's no fun. I'm still in pain and our darling baby girl seems to have camped out on the nerve and doesn't want to move!
That being said... I need to give a big thanks to Nanna! Clark was in Canada for work earlier this week so his mom came to help out and play with Walker. He had a blast with her! All the help has been really great! It's so nice to have family close by.
Next topic.... Snakes. Yep, I said it. SNAKE! A snake... at our house... AGAIN. And, this one was big. Ugh. First off... Frosty, I know you say we shouldn't kill rat snakes (assuming this was a rat snake), but we had to... it was too big and too close to the house for us!
Here's the story... I walked (really, I hobbled) by our front door and glanced out and saw the massive thing slithering across the sidewalk... right at the porch! eek. (you don't get to use the word "slithering" very often, I hope I don't use again anytime soon)
Here's it is in the flower bed. (I took this picture from inside!)

So, my crocodile hunter husband grabbed the hoe and went outside for the killing. Seriously, the thing was so long and so gross!

I'm so glad Clark is a good man that will go take care of these things! Here are a couple more photos of the aftermath. If anyone thinks this is something other than a rat snake, let us know!

And, to continue with the Wild Kingdom theme... our neighbors came out to check out the snake and told us about a "predator" animal in the neighborhood! I guess something like a cougar took down a huge deer earlier this week... and it happened right down the road. Seriously, this is what happens when you live near the woods! Yikes.

The Countdown is On!
This pregnancy has actually gone pretty fast. Taking care of Walker makes it easier to NOT focus on the pregnancy part. I am 33 weeks today, which means we have 7 weeks to go.
Seven weeks... doesn't sound too bad, right? WRONG! If I was feeling fine and getting around without pain, I think I would be fine. But, I am suffering from a lovely pregnancy complication called Sciatica. It is BRUTAL. The precious baby girl is pushing something up against my sciatic nerve. I have shooting pains that race down my left leg when I try to walk. Fun. And, here's the best part... there's nothing you can do to help it! Ugh.
So, you see why the countdown is on. I've never been one to wish that the baby would come early.... I certainly don't want her to arrive until she's baked and ready, but if that happened to be a week or two early, I wouldn't complain!!!
I have to take a moment to publicly thank my husband and mother. Clark has been wonderful. As soon as he gets home from work he orders me to sit and takes care of everything... dinner... getting Walker ready for bed... even dishes!
And, my mom.... yesterday she took me to the grocery store and helped me hobble along. She did all the heavy lifting and loading and unloading. Then she ordered me to make a list next time so she can go without me.
It helps to have sweet people around to take care of me!

Mr. Funny
It's amazing how much Walker entertains us! Each and everyday he does something new... and, a lot of the time, it makes us laugh!
Over the weekend, he showed us a new trick. He can open doors! How did this happen??? Clark went in the bedroom, closed the door and was about to take a shower. Walker walked right up to the door, opened it and followed Daddy into the bathroom. Keeping him contained gets harder and harder! So, it might be more work for us, but it's so wonderful to see him explore and learn new things!
We took some funny pictures of him this weekend and I had to share.
He's finally showing interest in hats... he wants to be just like Daddy!

I'm done with breakfast... think I'll prop my foot up!

Watching tv and playing with the remote in comfy place!

Partying with Marin
Walker's little friend Marin turned one over the weekend and she had a fabulous party! Walker got to do all kinds of fun stuff... like ride in a little train:

And, climb big walls:

And, go down a big slide with Daddy:

Clark says I didn't take the pictures far enough away to show how high Walker climbed and played, but I think this one gives a good perspective! Waving to Mommy!

And, I had to include this picture, because Mommy is actually in it!

Walker really did have a great time celebrating with Marin. I can't believe our babies are having birthdays! Wow.

Hanging with Uncle Jim and Aunt Linda
Nanna and Bubba brought Clark's Uncle Jim and Aunt Linda to visit us this week! And, it was such a special treat.
Walker really enjoyed being the only baby with so many "baby loving" adults!
It was a beautiful day, so we spent a lot of time outside... which consisted of us keeping Walker out of the pool!

Aunt Linda is quick and did an amazing job of blocking Walker from the edge. He thought it was a game!

This shows the game continuing, but I just like the picture, because our yard looks so tropical! Amazing that this is what we call our backyard.

Aunt Linda and Uncle Jim live in Nashville so our visits don't happen as often as we'd like... so we are thrilled that Walker got to meet them!

And, it's always fun to talk college football with people that are as big as fans as we are. Uncle Jim is a Texas Alum and had lots to say about Longhorn football. Do we really have have to wait four more months?
