Mama Bear

I know I've mentioned it many time before, but we love kindergarten at PDS.  They do several plays every year and Everly was so excited to be Mama Bear in the Goldilocks play.  I know I'm biased, but she did so amazing!  She said her lines very loud and clear and really "acted"!  She's already asked to be in another play!  A star is born!

Here are some pictures!  The Bear family:

All her little friends.

Proud Mama Bear!

Daddy and I are so proud!

The amazing Mrs. Fox!

I love the confidence Mrs. Fox has given BOTH my kids.  She's a wonderful teacher and we are so blessed at the impact she's  had on our kids.

The Woods Who Golf

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this on the blog, or not.  Walker is getting pretty darn good at golf!  He's been taking weekly lessons this year and continues to improve.  So, for fun we decided on a family outing to Top Golf.  What a great time!

Everly is very good.  She's fighting lessons, but I will get that girl in them eventually!

Walker loved Top Golf and loves anything involving golf, in general.

And, of course, Clark hits the ball a mile!

Sillies…

The girls watching the boys!

Walker's junior golf program is like karate.  As you improve, you can take tests to try to get to the next level.  He started with a white hat… earned a yellow stripe, so then it was time to test for the yellow cap.  He was already done with driving. Next up putting.  He nailed one part.  He needed to get five out of ten in this circle around the hole.  These were his first five putts:

He did amazing.  A guy in the parking lot started yelling "wow, look at that kid! He has such a touch…. I've never seen anything like it!"  So cool.  BUT, he didn't make enough of the three footers.  So, it was time to practice:

Little sister had to be into it, too.

A few days later he passed!! (you had to get six out of ten in the hole.  He got eight out of ten) So, all that was left was chipping.  So we went to the course to practice.

And, success! A yellow cap!!!

Boy was he proud.  Watching him golf has been so fun.  He takes it very seriously, practices hard and continues to improve.  Since he got the yellow cap, he moved up to a more advanced group.  He LOVES it!

We joined the country club and wouldn't you know…. they started a women's clinic! Yep, Mommy is going to learn, too.  I've only been once, but I really enjoyed it.  Golf with the entire family!  I hope this means lots of memories to be made on the golf course!

A Family Valentine

Clark and I had plans to have an "after the kids go to bed" date for Valentine's Day.  But, we decided it would be more fun to have a family Valentine's!  Everly helped me decorate the table and make a few things.  Clark cooked some amazing steak and we had such a great dinner.  The kids like that I let them drink their milk out of champagne glasses!  Everly loves to set a beautiful table.  I can't imagine where she got that!

Here are ALL of my precious Valentine's:

The most handsome boy….

And, beautiful girl.

I feel confident that a new tradition was born.  Family Valentine's from now on!

Just for Fun

Sometimes I like to include some fun, silly pictures on the blog, but they don't necessary have a good story to go with them.  So, here ya go!

Everly looking very cute for church!

Snuggly Elsa.

Both kids got a great report at the dentist!

Walker missed lunch because of that dentist appointment.  I enjoyed our one on one McDonalds date!

Everly entertaining me in car line!

More car line adventures.

Bunnies getting ready for Easter!

Here they are enjoying a skating party!

I'm not going to lie.  I hate skating parties.  Every time I'm in there I'm afraid someone is going to break a bone!  But, they had a blast and came out unharmed.  Ha!

Walker is 7!!

Someone, please slow down time.  How is it possible that my baby boy is SEVEN!?  I've heard the quote… The days are long but the years are fast.  Boy, is that so true!

Walker successfully made his birthday last and last… with a lot of celebrations!

First up… An American Ninja Warrior party with his buddies!

He loves that place and all the fun obstacles.

And, a very fun game a dodgeball!

Mr. Star Wars had to have a Star Wars cake.

Here's the whole party with their tough poses!

And, when we got home, he had WAY too many presents to open!  Wow.

The next day, Peepaw and Maggie and Nanna and Bubba came for a little birthday visit!

And, he got a new WiiU from Mommy and Daddy.  Thankfully, Nanna and Bubba gave him a Star Wars game!

He's hooked.

And, the celebrating wasn't over yet.  I took, you guessed it…. Star Wars cookies to school on his actual birthday!

Wow, look how grown up he is here….

And, last, but not least… mexican food for dinner!  He enjoyed the singing and whipped cream!

Whew!  Lots of fun celebrating this precious boy.  Walker, we are so proud to be your parents.  You are the sweetest, most kind-hearted, thoughtful, sensitive, and smart seven-year old in the world.

Memaw

My sweet Memaw went to be with Jesus.  While I miss her, I appreciate that it is a blessing that she's no longer suffering.  She's been ready to go home for a long time!

Here are some good memories! Both of these pictures were taken at Lake LBJ.  We always had the best time there.

Memaw was my only grandparent at my wedding…. She and Aunt Connie came to the bridesmaid luncheon.

She looked so pretty in her red suit… which matched the whole wedding!

I love this one of Memaw and Walker!

And, getting to meet Everly for the first time!

When we got to Lampasas for the funeral, I took the kids outside to play in the backyard.  I had lots of fun back there growing up… and, they attempted to climb the tree I always climbed!

So sweet.  And, I have to include this story because it just cracked me up.  After the funeral, we were in the car getting ready to go to the cemetery.  Everly blurted out, "Mommy, how long will it take them to dig that hole??? And, when it's done do they just throw Memaw in??"  Clark and I started laughing hysterically.

As you all know, our family has dealt with way too many funerals over the last few years.  We've never taken Walker and Everly.  We did this time and they handled it like champs.  Walker saw Memaw and said, "I know that's her body, but she's not there, she's in heaven."  So thankful that he gets it.  And, that his little sister hears him say that.

I bet Memaw had quite the reunion with Googie, Trisha and Carson!
