The Woods Who Golf

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this on the blog, or not.  Walker is getting pretty darn good at golf!  He's been taking weekly lessons this year and continues to improve.  So, for fun we decided on a family outing to Top Golf.  What a great time!

Everly is very good.  She's fighting lessons, but I will get that girl in them eventually!

Walker loved Top Golf and loves anything involving golf, in general.

And, of course, Clark hits the ball a mile!

Sillies…

The girls watching the boys!

Walker's junior golf program is like karate.  As you improve, you can take tests to try to get to the next level.  He started with a white hat… earned a yellow stripe, so then it was time to test for the yellow cap.  He was already done with driving. Next up putting.  He nailed one part.  He needed to get five out of ten in this circle around the hole.  These were his first five putts:

He did amazing.  A guy in the parking lot started yelling "wow, look at that kid! He has such a touch…. I've never seen anything like it!"  So cool.  BUT, he didn't make enough of the three footers.  So, it was time to practice:

Little sister had to be into it, too.

A few days later he passed!! (you had to get six out of ten in the hole.  He got eight out of ten) So, all that was left was chipping.  So we went to the course to practice.

And, success! A yellow cap!!!

Boy was he proud.  Watching him golf has been so fun.  He takes it very seriously, practices hard and continues to improve.  Since he got the yellow cap, he moved up to a more advanced group.  He LOVES it!

We joined the country club and wouldn't you know…. they started a women's clinic! Yep, Mommy is going to learn, too.  I've only been once, but I really enjoyed it.  Golf with the entire family!  I hope this means lots of memories to be made on the golf course!
