Pig Tails & Big Boy Undies

Goodness, I haven't blogged in two weeks.  Bad mommy!  Part of that is because we had some sickness in this house.  I have to say.... the kids hadn't been sick in a long time, so I guess we were due.  Walker had a high fever at the beginning of the week, then Everly had it at the end of the week.  Thankfully, both of them are feeling great again!

And, I'm not gonna lie.... the extra snuggle time was nice.  When they have fever, all they want to do is lay on me.  I'm not complaining.  It really is sweet to get some extra squeezing and kissing in.

We do have one big thing going on.... Walker's REAL attempt at potty training.  Since Everly was sick on Friday, we couldn't leave the house.  I decided to throw some big boy undies on Walker and he has done really well!!!  He does have some accidents, but he hates it when that happens, so I think it's motivation to do better.  Overall, he's done great... including a (DRY) trip out to eat.  We'll see what this week brings!

He's pretty proud!

I almost forgot.... Everly's hair is getting quite long!  And, I'm trying my best to start fixing it.  Although, I'm going to admit... it's more difficult than I imagined!  But, I'm getting better with practice.

Looks cute, huh?  Here's a little disclaimer.... Bunny did these pig tails!

And, one more pic, just because they're so sweet.

Walker is 3!!

I can't believe it, but my sweet, baby boy is THREE!  Time flies.

Walker had a wonderful birthday weekend.  It was jam packed with lots of fun activities!  Bunny took him to Build a Bear for the very first time!  He walked straight to Blue Bear and wasn't interested in anything else.  I love that he picked it out and is still thrilled with it.

After getting Blue, we went to the carousel ...  Walker loves it!

And, so does little sister.

After a fun time at the mall, Daddy came home early so we could hit Chuck E. Cheese.

The kids had a ball.... they loved running around, playing the games and watching all the other kids.

So, that was a great birthday, right?  That was just the beginning!  The party happened the next day.

Walker LOVED having everything Buzz and Woody themed!

I planned for them to be dressed like this:

But, it didn't last!  So, Woody and Jessie shirts had to do!

Walker did wear the hat!

He loved his cake, all the fun presents, and running around outside!  What a great party.

And, guess what we ended up with....

Yep, that's a real family photo... including Remy!  What a day.

Happy Birthday Walkie.  You are such a special and sweet boy.  You bring us joy every single day and we are SO blessed to have you as a son.

We love you!!!

Piggy Bank

Do you think these kids are going to take after their daddy?  They are very interested in putting money in their piggy banks!
Racing to see who can get the most in!

Everly has gotten so good at putting quarters in.
Walker counting his quarters.

She's so proud of her piggy!

His favorite part?  Pouring it all out and starting over!
I hope they always want to save their money!!!!  Hopefully their accountant daddy will instill the same "saving" values he has!  They are never to young to start learning!

Warm January Days

You've got to love warm days in January!  It means playing outside!  Last week, after the Texans lost, we spent some time in the backyard!  I love my little family in their red shirts.

They love to slide together!!!

She's becoming a pro at the swingset!

Our big boy can climb the rock side!

Peek a boo!

Daddy is so fun!!!
Everly has really hit the stage where she can do a lot of things... this means a lot of running around for mommy and daddy.  They are so fun!

Cute Things to Remember

My children have done some funny and very sweet things lately... Putting that stuff in print means we will actually remember it!

First of all, last night Everly got on Walker's rocking horse.  This doesn't sound particularly interesting, until I tell you she was completely naked!  It was hilarious.  And, as soon and Daddy and I started laughing, she and Walker both started laughing and we had one of those great laughing moments.  Precious.

Next, I mentioned it on Facebook, but it needs to be in the blog, too.  Walker still prays for Uncle Googie... every single night.  After he prays for everyone else, he ends his nightly prayer with, "and please help Uncle Googie, amen."  A lot of the time it brings me to tears.  It warms my heart and breaks my heart all at the same time.  It's just so sweet and innocent and precious.

And, possibly my favorite story of the week.... on Friday, Everly and I went to pick Walker up from school.  We walked in his room when another little boy walked up to Everly and started patting her.  He said "baby" and as Walker heard this, he ran up, put himself between the boy and Everly and said... "MY BABY!"  He did not want that other boy touching Everly or calling her anything!  Now, this could just be a part of the "mine" phase, but I choose to believe it's because Walker is very protective of his sister.  It reminded me of another sweet big brother....

I'm so happy that God gave us Walker first.  Every time something like this happens I will be reminded of Googie.  And, it will make me smile.

Ms. Gayle

I really can't believe that I have never blogged about Ms. Gayle.  She is our amazing babysitter that comes to be with the kids at least once a week... sometimes more.  Wow, is she amazing.

It dawned on me that I had never blogged about her, and I have figured out why.  Most of my blogs revolve around pictures and I had NO pictures of Ms. Gayle.  And, here's the reason.... every time she walks in my door, I run out my door.  It is such wonderful feeling to be able to run out and get things done and know my children are being taken care of!  More than that, my kids are having a blast!  They love Ms. Gayle and she loves them right back.  She is such a blessing to our family!!!

An attempt at a group shot.

Everly wasn't having it.

But, we finally got a smile!

One More Christmas

Our final get together... with Bunny and RayRay.  And, yes... more presents!

Walker and Clark showing off their new aprons!

Everly got very good at opening things!!!

Wow, what's this big thing??
Walker and Everly got WAY TOO much this year.  In fact, there are several things that haven't even come out of the box yet.  The good news, they'll get new things all over again in a couple of months!
