The Fun of Sleepovers

When Walker started Covenant in the first grade, he made some great friends.  But, he continued to get closer to his buddy, Kaleb.  Walker and Kaleb are similar kids and always have so much fun together.  And, since they love spending time together, we've figured out that their little sisters love being together, too!  In fact, I'm pretty sure Addie, Everly, Kaleb and Walker would all live together if they could.

So, we've had a couple of fun sleepovers for them.  Boys at our house first.  Then a week later, the girls!  Their mom, Keileigh, and I exchange texts through the night and they love seeing what the others are doing.  Seriously, they all love it.

It's been such a blessing getting to know the Neugebauers (yes, that's their last name).  Our families get along great and the kids always look forward to seeing each other outside of school.  The boys are playing flag football together this fall, so there will be more fun memories to be made!

WinShape Camp

Our church has a great summer camp called Winshape.  Great counselors and tons of fun activities.  Walker got to pick his interests.  He picked all sports!  And, had a great time doing them.

And, he got into the spirit of his group.... Go Ocean!

Walker was gone all day, so Everly and I got to have some girl time!  She asked for pancakes for lunch!

The last day of camp was family day.  I got to hang with this cutie and see why he loved the camp so much!

He's already so excited for next year!!!

High Tea Tradition

I love a nice high tea.  I learned to love it from my mother.  And, she continues the tradition!  How fun!

Bunny has been taking Savannah to high tea for years and now Everly gets to go, too!  A special time for a grandmother and and her granddaughters.  Fun that I get to join in!

It's always fun to see the girls all dressed up.

Love my sweet girl so much!

Aren't they all the cutest!

Everly loves high tea so much that Bunny makes it a part of her birthday celebration. (Can you tell that she's excited?!)

It really is a special tradition that we all look so forward to.  Can't wait for many more high teas to come!

The Little Golfers!

Walker has been golfing for quite some time.  He seems to enjoy it and continues to improve.  We've tried and tried to get Everly to take lessons with him, but she pushed back.  But, finally, in her own time (typical Everly), she started weekly lessons.  I love that this is something they can do together!

And, seriously, they are the cutest golfers you'll ever see.

She's getting better and better.

And, she's officially a member of the Herridge Golf Academy!

Another exciting thing happened recently.... Walker played his first official nine holes with Daddy.  Clark says he played really well.  How fun that they can do this together!

Here's his first official scorecard:

Playing holes has helped him understand why he has to learn all the different shots and just for the record.... 64 isn't too shabby! Plus, Clark pays Walker every hole that he beats Daddy.  Great incentive!

A lot of people stop the lessons over the summer.  It is very hot, but so beneficial to continue.... classes were small and they both learned a lot.

This is one of my favorite pictures.... class was over, but they wanted to keep playing.

It's so fun to see some determination and tenacity out of these two.  It is going to be interesting to watch them continue to get better.  I feel confident that they will really push each other.  I hope that's a good thing.  The head coach says Walker is ready to start playing in some tournaments.  That's something that will be happening in the next few months.  How exciting!

Music Camp

This summer I wanted the kids to be able to do some stuff that interests them.  So, we signed Everly up for Music Camp!  She really enjoys being on stage, so it was a perfect thing for her.  Plus, she had friends doing it.  Even better.  They went to camp for 5 days, then gave a great performance!

Everly is so expressive on stage!

I love it.  And, I love that she takes it all so seriously!

Mama, Daddy and big brother were all very proud of her!

I'm hoping to do put her in more acting and singing types of activities, because she really does love it.  And, we love watching her!

Yes, I'm Still Here

Wow.  It's been a REALLY long time since I last wrote a blog.  Sorry about that.  No real excuse, it just didn't happen.  But, I'm ready to get caught up.... and, I'm hoping it doesn't take too long.  Pictures are organized and I have a plan, so it will happen!

In the meantime, I'm going to post some miscellaneous summer pics to prove that we are still here!

Pool fun!

Debra and I took Bunny to Lake Charles for her birthday!

Spoiled doggies.

Date night.

Walker and Everly at Top golf camp with neighborhood buds.

Miss E trying on school uniforms.

Not sure what this silly boy is doing, but he cracks me up!

Ninja warrior fun!

These precious little babes at church...

Sweet sibling sleepovers!

More to come, I promise!

Punta Mita

After a lot of discussions, (and one major delay) Clark and I were off to Punta Mita, Mexico!  Just the two of us for a relaxing vacay!

It took us all of 5 minutes to find the beach and have a margarita in front of us!

We stayed at the St. Regis... known for it's butlers and service.  They did not disappoint.  We had our tea and coffee on the balcony....

And, we enjoyed the spa and the pool....

And, we drank more margaritas....

With our toes in the sand....

And, we got to go snorkeling.  It was my first time.  We went out to the marietas islands.... a national park.  It was beautiful, but the current was a little rough, so it was hard to stay in one area!

We were supposed to be on this trip during our anniversary.  But, someone broke their foot, so we had to delay.  But, everyone at the resort kept wishing us Happy Anniversary!  Ha!

In an effort to speak Clark's love language, I agreed to go fishing with him.  Inshore only!  But, it was all we needed.  We had great guides and lots of fun on the water.

Not sure what this guy was, but Clark had fun reeling him in.

And, at basically the same time, we both reeled in these rooster fish!!!!

I'm not gonna lie... I was pretty proud of myself.  I like to tell the story about me wearing burnt orange for the first time.  Clark's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.  In fact, I think he looked at me with more love that day than he did on our wedding day!!  Going fishing was a close second.  I think he was very proud of me, too!

Here's the best part.  We took our fish to the little grill and they cooked them for us!!!!

Oh my.... so delicious!!!  Nothing like eating the fish you caught... with this view:

It was a wonderful getaway.  We enjoyed getting pampered and spending time alone.  But, there's nothing better than coming home to sweet babies!!!!

A huge thank you to Bunny and RayRay and Nanna and Bubba for keeping the kids.  We are thankful that the kids had so much fun with all the grandparents.

Until we meet again, Mexico!
