After a lot of discussions, (and one major delay) Clark and I were off to Punta Mita, Mexico! Just the two of us for a relaxing vacay!
It took us all of 5 minutes to find the beach and have a margarita in front of us!
We stayed at the St. Regis... known for it's butlers and service. They did not disappoint. We had our tea and coffee on the balcony....
And, we enjoyed the spa and the pool....
And, we drank more margaritas....
With our toes in the sand....
And, we got to go snorkeling. It was my first time. We went out to the marietas islands.... a national park. It was beautiful, but the current was a little rough, so it was hard to stay in one area!
We were supposed to be on this trip during our anniversary. But, someone broke their foot, so we had to delay. But, everyone at the resort kept wishing us Happy Anniversary! Ha!
In an effort to speak Clark's love language, I agreed to go fishing with him. Inshore only! But, it was all we needed. We had great guides and lots of fun on the water.
Not sure what this guy was, but Clark had fun reeling him in.
And, at basically the same time, we both reeled in these rooster fish!!!!
I'm not gonna lie... I was pretty proud of myself. I like to tell the story about me wearing burnt orange for the first time. Clark's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. In fact, I think he looked at me with more love that day than he did on our wedding day!! Going fishing was a close second. I think he was very proud of me, too!
Here's the best part. We took our fish to the little grill and they cooked them for us!!!!
Oh my.... so delicious!!! Nothing like eating the fish you caught... with this view:
It was a wonderful getaway. We enjoyed getting pampered and spending time alone. But, there's nothing better than coming home to sweet babies!!!!
A huge thank you to Bunny and RayRay and Nanna and Bubba for keeping the kids. We are thankful that the kids had so much fun with all the grandparents.
Until we meet again, Mexico!
