Cougar Weekend

When I graduated from high school, I ran off to TCU and didn't stay that close to my childhood friends.  There was contact here and there, but not a lot.  Since then, I've seen some of my girlfriends at a shower or wedding or other Grand Prairie event, but nothing like a full weekend.  That happened this past weekend.  And, can I tell you something.... It was FUN!  Big fun.  Laugh a lot fun.

A couple of the girls, I hadn't seen in over 15 years.  The best part.... being back with them was just like the old days.  Like NO time had gone by.  I seriously love that.

Check out those smiles!  We were all so happy to be together.

We even put on our workout clothes and went for a long walk.  Check out those blue skies.  We couldn't asked for better weather.

Posing in the bluebonnets.

Working out on the big hills!

I was with the girls for my birthday.  It was really fun to be with people who had been to many of my birthday parties in the past!  Thank you Kelli for the fabulous koozie!

Soaking up the sun on the dock!

Heather brought me a beautiful birthday cake.

All the girls enjoying each other!

There's just something special about being with girls that know your history.  We spent time catching up on each other's lives and families.  We all knew each other's parents and siblings.  It really was a special weekend.

And, I'd like to give a public shout out to the amazing Clark.  Thank you for encouraging me to spend some fun time with good girlfriends.  You keeping our babies allowed me to have a weekend that I won't forget!

Go Cougars!  (I could say Gophers or Panthers, but Cougars seems so much more fun considering we are now officially in our mid 30s!)

Bluebonnets!

After my big girls weekend, I came home to beautiful spring weather.  What's the best thing to do during the spring?  Take pictures in the bluebonnets!

My handsome boy!

The sweet siblings.  So precious that he wants to hold her hand.

My beautiful, sweet Everly!

Okay, this next picture might nominate us as parents of the year:

Yes, that's Walker pushing his sister down and not getting in trouble.  We couldn't help laugh, because they were having so much fun!  Look at them!

No, he didn't get in trouble... in fact, he thought it was so hilarious, he did it again!

And, obviously, she didn't mind!

Goodness, I really wish I hadn't cut his head off.... they were hysterical!

I just love their sweet, sweet faces!

Not exactly a framer, but proof that daddy was there!

I just love this picture!  I think Clark became a professional photographer for a minute.  So sweet.

This girl has her daddy wrapped around her finger!  They are so precious.

A great afternoon in the bluebonnets.  It was especially fun for mommy after being away for the weekend!

Her New Favorite Food

Everly has discovered sour cream.

She's a big fan.  In fact, all she needs is a finger or spoon.  It's hilarious.

Yes, she's a mess in this picture, but I had to include it.  Her brother was the photographer!  They are so much fun.

Sit In My Lap

I'm not making this up.  Walker says to Everly.... "Everly, sit in my lap!"

Here are the pictures:

Have I mentioned that I love that they LOVE each other?

Loving the Sunshine!

Who has noticed the beautiful, sun-filled days?  We have!!  Spring is the best.  We've spent tons of time outside in the sunshine.  We even went to check out Lake Conroe.  The kids loved looking at the water, fish and ducks.  It's exciting that there is actually water in the lake!

Cheese!

So sweet.

I think he was pointing at an airplane.  It might have been a boat or a duck.

Sweet babes.

Just Because...

... they are so cute and love each other so much!

Almost Paradise

Last week was very historic.  Clark and I left both of our babes for FOUR nights.  I've never been away from them for more than one night.  But, when you have a chance to go to the Bahamas, you take it.  And, I did.  Although, the kids tried their best to come with us!

I'm pretty sure they didn't think we would notice!

But, we did manage to break away and go off to a tropical island.

So beautiful.  Thursday was truly the most relaxing day I've had since before Walker was born.  I slept until 10.  I went to the beach and I sat there.  I had some lunch, finished a book, watched the waves, felt the breeze and sat some more.  It was lovely.  Although, it would have been more lovely if Clark hadn't been stuck in a conference room for 11 hours.

Friday was also nice.  I went to the pool and then the spa.  But, this is where the trip takes a turn.  A turn for the worse.  Bottom line.... don't eat the ice.  We went to this resort last year with no problems, but this time... the time I don't have any kids with me.... I got sick.  No fun.

But, I'll say this... if you're going to be sick, you might as well be sick with a view.  Clark and I did spend all day Saturday on the beach.

And, the best way to wash away the sand and salt....

That is truly the most amazing bathtub EVER!  I got Clark to take this picture because I want to build a tub just like this someday.  So nice.

And, here's our one good picture together... shockingly, it's right before we left, when I felt really terrible.

Anyway, that almost sums up the trip.  Almost.....

Yep, that's me... on the corporate jet.  Clark has now officially spoiled me rotten.  I've requested that we never fly commercial again!  HA!

A HUGE thank you to Bunny and RayRay for keeping the kids.  It was really nice to be able to get away and not worry about Walker and Everly.  They were having as much fun as us!
