We were blessed with fantastic coaches. They expected the best out of the boys, but were also very encouraging. If the boys messed up, the coaches explained what happened and made it a learning situation. They taught the boys to have heart and never give up. It really was a special season. The City Championship game was tonight and Walker had to miss. I hated that he missed the game, but we know he's having a wonderful time at camp.
Here are some pictures from the season!
Here's Walker with the fantastic Coach Cody (after winning a game ball after some fabulous hitting and base running!):
I have to share about a little about Coach. He cares about the kids. As individuals and as a team. At our team party he commented to me that he knows Walker needs his approval. I was actually taken aback that Cody noticed. Walker is most definitely a pleaser. He does NEED to know he's made you proud. The fact that Cody KNEW that and made a point to make sure to let Walker know that he was proud is huge. It says a lot about our coach.
Our awesome hitter!
Peepaw came to lots of games!
We had the team party at our house. Lots of kids playing in the yard and swimming!
Here they are after they won the game to get to go to the city championship.
And, to celebrate that, we let Walker and Everly go swimming instead of taking a bath!
We are all sad that the season is over, but thrilled that Walker understands the game more and loved playing. There will be many more games in our future!
