Winston the Bear

First grade is full of exciting and new things.  I've learned that Winston the Bear is Walker's class mascot.  On Fridays, he picks a student to go home with over the weekend.  His pick is based on best manners during the week.  On Thursday, Walker was telling me all about Winston and how he wanted Winston to come home with him.

I was quite thrilled to see Winston in his arms when I picked him on Friday!!!!

Walker was SO proud to be the first student picked.  (mom and dad are so proud, too!) Although, he wasn't too excited about the fact that he had to write in Winston's journal telling about all they did.  The good news, he got to use pictures, too.

And, somehow, Walker found time to write all about it in the journal.  Such a fun way to start out the year.  I'm so proud of this precious boy!
