The Namesake

I've always thought Ray deserved a namesake. And, I've always thought using Ray for a girl's middle name was the way to go. That's why we didn't use Ray for Walker. I was holding out for RayRay to have a little girl named after him.

We knew her middle name was Ray before we knew her first name was Everly. That's how strongly we felt about using it.

Here's why... Ray has been in my life for 27 years. He married my mother, but he married her two kids, too. I feel he needs something in writing to show that! The Been name won't go on after Ray. So, this was our way of continuing Ray's legacy.

Everly can look up to her RayRay and know that she was named after a thoughtful, caring, unselfish and loving man. I have no doubt that she and Walker will learn tons from him!
