Happy Earth Day... Huh?

I have never used this blog for political purposes. In fact, I've tried to leave all political discussions up to my husband.

But, today I have to get something off my chest. When you have kids, you look at things differently. You pay attention to things that you never would have noticed and you are exposed to a whole new world.

So, let me describe my problem. Walker likes several shows on Nick Jr. I don't have a problem with the shows... they are all very cute and hopefully educational. But, I noticed this week that they are promoting Earth Day like crazy. I guess all the shows today have a "saving the planet" theme. Is there a problem with talking about recycling or saving the planet... no. But, what bothers me is that they promote Earth Day like crazy, yet never mention Easter or Christmas.

I just hate all the "political correctness". Seriously, it's a Holiday tree now, instead of a Christmas tree. And, I hear that kids have to dye Spring Eggs instead of Easter Eggs. My point... if I left it up to Nick Jr. then Walker would know EVERYTHING about Earth Day and NOTHING about the holidays that matter. Of course, I'm not leaving it up to Nick Jr. Clark and I will be teaching Walker the importance of Jesus Christ and the meanings of Christmas and Easter.

I just wish it wasn't so "politically incorrect" to do so.
