A Hodge-Podge

I have several blog topics today, but I didn't want to do different blogs, so it's all here...

Topic #1: Football
Texas and TCU are undefeated! For the second time this season, they played at the exact same time. BUT, TCU wasn't on tv. This sounds bad, huh? Well, it actually wasn't bad at all, because TCU was on ESPN 360. I had never watched anything on 360, but it was great. It was a full broadcast of the game, on the computer. So, we had Texas on the big TV and TCU on the computer... a great way to keep tabs on both games.

It was down to the wire, but TCU pulled off a big road win against Clemson! Texas killed UTEP. Go Frogs and Longhorns.

So, after we finished up these two games, we sent Walker to Bentwater and Clark and I headed south to Robertson Stadium for the Houston/Texas Tech game. (So sentimental! The last time we were there was the night Clark proposed to me! Aww.)

We have a knack for going to non Texas or TCU games and seeing a fantastic ballgame! A couple of years ago it was Florida/LSU.

Wow! Houston and Tech were back and forth, really exciting and really LATE! It didn't end until after midnight!

We truly couldn't decide who cheer for... we both like both teams. So, I basically cheered for whoever was on offense.... at the beginning. But, by the end, I was really pulling for Tech. Hopefully I don't offend any Cougars out there, but their fans are REALLY rude (maybe it's because they sell beer in the stadium). There are lots of examples, but I'll share just one. They booed Tech players when they were injured on the field. Enough said.

Anyway, Houston pulled it out with less than a minute to go... GREAT game... have I mentioned that I love college football?

Topic #2

Walker is EIGHT months old today! Wow. He gets more fun, more lovable, more handsome and more of a joy every single day. We are so blessed.

Topic #3

We officially have a church home. The Wood family has been visiting Crossroads Baptist for months now and this morning we joined the church. Walker was adorable. He smiled for everyone. It was great having him with us... he took all the attention off of us!

We are really enjoying Crossroads and we continue to get more involved... we've met lots of great people and we learn something new each time we are there. We went to a class for visitors last week and the pastor explained that a Christian without a church home is a like an orphan. That is such a good and descriptive way to explain it. We were orphans, but we aren't anymore!
