Goldilocks and the Three Bears

So, Kindergarten has proved to be a wonderful experience for Walker.  I can't even begin to explain how much he's learned and grown, so far, this year.  At the beginning of the year, Mrs. Fox asked us if there was anything specific she should know or work on with our children.  I told her how shy Walker was.  Not that this was a bad thing, but I was a bit concerned that he might not speak up for himself if other kids were being ugly, etc.  So, Mrs. Fox made sure to help Walker come out of his shell.  Wow, has she succeeded.

The two kindergarten classes have been working on their Goldilocks and the Three Bears play for awhile.  Yesterday (the day before the performance), they found out Hudson (one of Walker's best buddies') couldn't be in the play.  Turns out Papa Bear had pneumonia!  Well, the class was discussing it and Walker raised his hand and said, "I'll do it!  I WANT to be Papa Bear!" So, off they went to dress rehearsal and he apparently knew every single line!

Today was the actual performance.  And, Papa Bear was FANTASTIC!  I'm so proud of the fact that he stepped up and handled this situation so well!

Here are some great pics:

Here's the whole cast.  Aren't they so cute!

And, a good look at my adorable Papa Bear:

Bunny came to see the performance:

One very proud mama:

"Someone's been eating my porridge."

Here's the amazing Mrs. Fox.  What a blessing she has been.

And, our little heartbreaker with the girls.  He LOVES Reese and Andy.

Such little cuties.

I think I say it a lot, but I love this stage of parenting.  Walker is such a joy and it is so exciting to see him learn and grow.  We couldn't be more proud!

Just for Fun

I have a few pictures to share, so this is just a fun post!

First, it's official, these two dogs belong to DADDY!!!  They love him more than anyone else in the house.

Silly girl…. cupcake costume and all.

Tball season is upon us, once again!  We are thankful for some nice weekends to practice!

Clark decided to sit outside in the gorgeous weather.  The kids were very interested in why he wasn't coming inside!  This picture cracks me up!

And, one more picture of outside fun.  They thought it was quite fabulous blowing bubbles into the pool!

Chuck E. Cheese Fun

For the second year in a row, Walker wanted a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party.  Since he's out of school on Fridays, we are able to plan for that day.  It makes it much less crowded!

It's super easy and he LOVES it!!!!

Ready to party!

So excited to see Leonard!

Everly was pumped that Hartley was there!

Games!

Cupcake time.

This year, he actually posed with Chuck E.

All the kids!

Ticket blaster.

He got way too many!!!  He loves feeding them into the counter.

Both babes came home as super heroes.

More presents!

And, this is the only "family picture" I got.

Yep, ninja turtle selfie.  Perfect ending to quite a the birthday celebration!

Walker is 6!!!

I'm not sure how this happened, but we have a six year old.  Really.  He had a great actual birthday.  We took cookies to school and then he requested spaghetti for dinner.  Bunny and RayRay came over for dinner, cupcakes and the first round of presents!!!!

It was a great day celebrating the sweetest, kindest, most handsome, precious boy!!!

Stuck in a Tree

Yes, you read that right.  Walker got stuck in a tree.  It wasn't funny at the time, but looking back, it's quite hilarious.

It was a gorgeous day and the babes were enjoying the sunshine.  Until…. Walker got stuck.  I'm still not sure how it happened, but his knee was really, really stuck.  I tried to pull on him.  I tried to lift him up.  I tried to pull the branches apart.  I couldn't get him out.  During this process, I sat in an ant bed.  That wasn't fun.  The longer it went on, the more hysterical Walker got.  Which made his sweet, little sister get hysterical, too.  So, here I am…. ants all over my backside and two screaming children.

I sent a SOS to all my neighbors to see if anyone could come help me pull the branches apart and get him, unstuck.

Thankfully, Don was around and he came to our rescue.  All in all it wasn't THAT dramatic, but it was kind crazy.  Although, I'm sure it was the first of many silly boy adventures that will come our way!

Golden Globes

My mom has a Golden Globe party every year.  It is really fun!!!!  We get to bet on who we think will win the awards and drink champagne!  It is a unique party, because it's "multigenerational".  Several moms and daughters!!

And, I got to hang out with two of my favorites…. Debra and Sarah:

And, here's me and mom:

Everyone enjoyed the show and talking about all the fashion and which celebrity looked good or bad.

Here's the whole crew:

It was a great party and tons of fun.  What a fabulous tradition!

Blog Books

I think most of my loyal WoodWords reader know, I print out my blog.  They are fabulous hardback books and I absolutely love them.  I was actually behind a couple of years, so I've been working on 2013 and 2014.  I got out the older books so I could make sure they match!

Someone was VERY excited to look through them!

I hope she is always interested in looking back!!!!!

Because with the blog book, she and Walker can remember pictures like this:

Babes and puppies warming up by the fire!  Too cute!
