The Beach!

Oh my…. we have SO many pictures from the beach.  I don't even know where to start!  So, I'll break it up!

We went and picked Ryder up and and spent four days with all of Clark's family.  So much fun!  We had two condos and really had a nice time.

Just enough room for three kids and all the gear!

Wow, did my kids take to boogie boarding!  They loved it.

And, they had a great time playing in the sand!

And, Everly and Nanna were always on the hunt for seashells!

More fun pictures…

And, a favorite of mine!  Precious babes:

Every kid needs their name in the sand!

More fun beach pictures to come!

Fabulous Birthday Bash

It took some time, but we are so thankful that we've really gotten to know our neighbors and have found some really fun friends!

We got to celebrate one of them in style!  Nicki turned 30 and her fun hubby took a huge crowd to eat in Houston on a party bus!

It was so fun to get dressed up and literally have to worry about nothing!

Oh, and definitely fun to hang out with great friends!!!

Such a fun party, date night, girl time…. it was everything wrapped up into one!  Suhdir set the bar high for the rest of the big birthdays coming up!

What a Weekend

We had one of those "we have nothing to do and nowhere to be" weekends. Sometimes those are full of boredom and "what should we be doing" thoughts.  Not this one.  It was such a blast.

Clark got home from the out of town board meeting early Friday afternoon.  Which meant pool time and going out for mexican food.  There was one hiccup… after dinner, Walker's leg fell through this silly wagon they wanted to sit on.  Yes, there's a big sign on the side of this wagon "We are not responsible for accidents".  Thanks for that.  He was brave and when we got him home I used some antiseptic (Frosty, you would have been really proud!) and got him patched up.  Interestingly enough, when he cried, Everly cried, too.  Not sure if she was being sympathetic to her brother, or if she was afraid mommy was going to put something on her that burned.  I choose to think she's a sweet sister!

Then on Saturday, the kids got haircuts and we were off to a neighbors' house for some fun in the sun.  A few couples, lots of kids and tons of fun.

Big boy jumping off the rocks!

I know I've talked about it all summer, but our kids aren't babies anymore.  And, we can really tell that in the pool.  The lessons they've been taking and the hours in the pool have really paid off.  They are light years ahead of where they were…. even since the beginning of the summer.  It is so fun to see.

And, today…. seriously, I almost posted on Facebook several times about how great our day was.  But, I didn't, because I didn't want to come off annoying.  (you know, there's something called Facebook depression or something.  Where people only post the good stuff going on and it makes it look like you have a perfect life and others are sad about their own crummy life.)  BUT, the loyal WoodWords readers want to hear about our fantastic day, right?

It started a church.  Always a good place to start!  There was great music (including more than one old school hymn. "I Surrender All" at the invitation!  Took me straight back to the pews of FBC GP!  Love it.) and a fantastic sermon by Pastor Larry.  Okay, and, I'm gonna say it.  The church ordained some new deacons today, so there were a lot of men in suits.  WOW!  I know I'm old school, but I enjoy seeing people dressed for church.  I could go on, but I'll leave it at that.  Plus, it was Walker's last Sunday in the preschool area.  Next week he will be a kindergartner at Crossroads.  He's pretty darn excited about it, too.

After church, we had lunch and ran to Target.  You see, the pool we were at yesterday had lots of masks, snorkels and flippers.  Walker and Everly LOVED them.  So, we had to buy some.  Worth every penny, because we spent hours in the pool today.  Swimming, snorkeling, jumping, diving for toys, you name it.  I kept saying to Clark, "isn't this just the best?" and "THIS is why we always knew we wanted a pool!"  There's nothing better than hearing, "Daddy, I'm going to jump in to you!" and "Mommy, can I jump off your shoulders again?".  What a day.

I'm including this because it's too funny!  (she's fine and overly dramatic!)

And, here are a couple more fun pictures from our "down time" aka so tired from all the swimming:

I'm so very blessed by my amazing family!  I couldn't love them anymore if I tried!

Daughter Date Night

Walker got to spend some alone time with Bunny and RayRay while going to golf camp, so that gave us some alone time with Everly.  So, we took her on a date!

She wanted pizza, so we went to the waterway for Grimaldis.  And, of course, she wanted to "dress up".

It really is weird to only have one with you at time.  But, it was so fun to give her some undivided attention.  Walker and Everly are so close and such good buddies that sometimes I think they're a little too dependent on each other.  That's why special times like this are so important!

It was a great date!

The Future Golfer

I think we can officially call Walker a golfer.  He went to golf camp at Bentwater and really, really liked it!

I think he looks the part!

In the afternoon on the third day, they had "family day".  Clark took off work and came out to play two holes with him.  He played really well!

Once Clark got it on the green, Walker two putted for a "par".  Clark then missed his second putt and Walker quickly pointed out that he was better than daddy!  So precious.

RayRay was there cheering him on…

And, so were these two cheerleaders!

The next morning he graduated!

It was a great introduction to golf and it definitely got him interested in the game, which is what we were hoping for.

Thanks to Bunny and RayRay for sending him to golf camp!  I have no doubt that this will be the first of many more in the coming years.

Sunday Funday

What a weekend we had!  Fourth of July activities, followed by a fun wedding, followed by a great Sunday.  Clark took the kids for donuts, then we went swimming, then we went to the driving range, then we went for snow cones!!  Wow!

Here are some pictures:

Walker starts golf camp tomorrow, so he was brushing up on his swing!

Fun day!

And, just for fun, I'm including some pictures from Sara's wedding.  It was small, intimate, beautiful and a super fun night!

Happy July 4th!

What a fun 4th we had.  Lots of fun activities.  We started with the neighborhood parade.  Walker and Everly were very excited to follow the firetruck and make their way down the street!

And, when they made it to the end, a delicious treat was waiting!

Man, my kids love watermelon!

And, they got a tour of the firetruck.  Such cute, patriotic babes!

Then, later that afternoon, we went to Bunny and RayRay's friend's house.  They live on the lake in a fabulous home.  We had a great time…. swimming, fishing (BOTH W&E caught fish!!!), eating and firework watching.

My favorite part, both kids kept pointing out the "merica" flags!  They really got the meaning of the holiday this year!  It was a fantastic, fun-filled, great day!
